    Going Big on NYK +8

    Can't pass up on an 8 point dog at home facing elimination. NY does not want to get swept, they are playing for pride tonight. I just don't see Miami needing to win by double digits after winning big in game 3. We saw the Knicks bounce back nicely in game 2 after being embarrassed in game 1. I think we see the same tonight.

    This will be my biggest play of the playoffs, wish me luck.

    An equally compelling argument is that the Knicks are a defeated team, and Miami will finish this one off in decisive fashion. Look at the Mavs game last nite. Home dog facing elimination doesn't mean much when they are just plain outmatched. If your prediction holds any water, I would go with the O183.5 rather than picking sides.

    Yeah this was my thinking too. Home team facing elimination isn't any more compelling than a superior visiting team with an opportunity to decisively end the series right there.

    Big difference between getting 2 points and 8 points.

    From what I read on this game, NY badly wants to keep it close. Chandler and Melo mentioned multiple times that a sweep will not sit well with hem. Do I think NY can win? Yes but they most likely won't. But they should be able to keep it w/in 8.

    No bet for me. NY are losers man. I can very well see them just give up if miami goes on a run. Watch the videos on the nba.com/heat side. They are talking about closing it out strong. If I bet this I go with miami but Im not sure if thats a good bet.

    I'm sure going down 3-0 and getting blown out in game three didn't set well with them either. That doesn't mean it prevented it from happening.

    I also like the value here. But NYK's really garbage and Miami's a beast. So I took Miami-7.5 here. Just don't want to over-analyze some lines just like what I did to Utah+5.5.

    Knicks played like crap for the first 2 games...and if there was a time that they would play better and/or Heat would play worse, it was Game 3. Clearly it did not happen, and it won't happen game 4. You can be sure after watching their main competition from the West take care of their series 4-0, Miami will not want to look 'inferior' and will be sure to match their efforts with a sweep themselves. Not to mention the Heat have absolutely no interest in playing another game in this useless series. Their aiming for the championship and the last thing they need is to waste energy in a pointless game (which is what game 4 will be if they lose). The angle to back the team down 0-2/0-3 did not work on Dallas, didn't work on Utah, and I don't see it working on Knicks.

    Hate the play...good luck though.

    seems like for 5 or 6 years, lebron james-led teams have just crushed everyone in the first round. i hope it stays reasonably close to create value in miami 2nd half, as derrick rose before me has already mentioned. and if i don't take that then i hope speedy gets his cover as i have nothing on this one at the moment.

    Both teams are sleep walking. NYK still hasn't had one big run where the crowd has gotten into it. Home teams usually make at least one or two big runs in a game. I think we see at least one big run out of NYK here in the 2nd half.

    My Melo OVER 27 pts at -115 is looking good as well. Just hoping NYK can keep it close here in the 2H. Someone other than Melo needs to start scoring.
