Speculation Around The Big 3 Not Playing Tonight in LA

Spurs are on a b2b2b (played in Oakland yesterday, play in Sacramento tomorrow), and there is speculation from the Spurs camp that the big 3 may not play, and if they do they'll likely play very limited minutes. All credit to sharpstick over at covers, just thought i'd bring it up:

Good chance the Lakers may be the favorite by tip off. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm taking Lakers +3 right now, if anything I can hedge out and just lose juice. Of course keep in mind that the Spurs are more than capable of beating the Lakers w/o the big 3 as well.

Yeah and the line hasn't moved at all. I'll wait until confirmation because I think if they all sit then lakers won't need the 3 anyway

Ridiculous... In a B2B2B stretch of Warriors/Lakers/Kings, there's no WAY the Spurs would prioritize games against two of the worst teams in the west over the Lakers six days after LA handed them a double digit loss at home.

That being said, I really like the Lakers to beat the Spurs tonight.

Spurs look like their going to focus on guaranteeing two wins out of three and looks like their targeting the weak teams to do this. Makes sense really given that a WIN is a WIN

Nothing is ridiculous, were talking about Greg Popavich. From day one we know the Spurs don't care much about the regular season. You think they would, but it is pretty obvious they don't. I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 of the big guys play real limited minutes tonight.

I really liked SA last night, but with all this news about rested players, etc. I'm going to roll small with LA +3. Whether they play big minutes or not, it is clear this game is more important to LA than SA. If SA really wanted this game bad, there wouldn't be any speculation about minutes, etc.

you have to remember that this b2b2b is a short distance in between cities,
so less time is spent traveling = automatically more rest for their players

that and GS got blown out yesterday and lakers/spurs = nationally televised who beat them @ home last week
