    Iverson Buys Mom ABA Team

his mommy will bug him everyday about it, and then maybe he will go play for her

Allen Iverson's mother, Ann, will be the majority owner on a new American Basketball Association franchise that will play in Richmond next season.

Iverson, the Philadelphia 76ers star and 2001 NBA MVP, starred at Bethel High School in Hampton

The new ABA team, known as the Warriors, will be coached by former Virginia Tech player Michael Davis, who will also serve at director of player personnel.

A franchise costs $20,000, but needs about $400,000 for operating costs, minority owner and general manager George Christopher said. Each team has a roster of 10-12 players and a $160,000 salary cap.
