76ers should handle the Hawks easily Friday night

Assuming Hawes is back in the lineup, the Sixers should beat Atlanta and cover the 6. I like Philly in bounce-back spots this year because Collins always has his team ready to play. Jrue Holiday is a mismatch for Teague and the rest of the team is plenty athletic enough to lock down Atlanta. The only issue is the Elton Brand - Josh Smith matchup but even that isn't that big of a deal because the Sixers play great team defense and I'm sure Thad Young will take minutes away from Brand.

What do people think about this one?

Soon time to fade Sixers. Team is not as good as they've performed.

Yea i know the time is coming soon. I might be wrong about this game, we will see. No play as of yet but my first instinct tells me 76ers win and cover.

    For what its worth...
In the 3 games following Sixers losses this season, wins have come by 20, 28, and 31 points.

Haven't capped the game yet but its definitely an early lean. Philly matches up well with thuglanta.

While I agree with the play, Greek's been junk lately t-wizz. Not nearly as reliable as it used to be.

good call on the 49ers. that game was nuts. i really thought it was over after that last brees drive. smith is good.

bengals, you would be wrong about the sixers. they are a top 4 team in the eastern conference. i wrote in my thread they would be great ats before the year started. these are the types of games i always stay away from because hawks and sixers rosters are way too similar.

Note that around the same proportion on PHI -6 are on ATL ML = roughly 65%.

    Wondering the same thing myself...

Horford is out but they are 5-0 since. Regardless, Philly is weak inside offensively with Hawes out. Holiday vs. Teague is a wash. J-Smoove is RED hot and should give Philly fits. Having Marvin Williams back is huge as he gives them size, strength, versatility, and is a solid defender.

Philly is a bit deeper, and the key in this game will be the battle of the benches, where Philly has had the upper hand all year. But they haven't really been challenged physically this season so this should be an interesting matchup. Atlanta has the ability to slow this game down and bang with Philly. If a guy like Jodie Meeks can't rain 3's the Sixers could be in trouble.

IMO this spread should be closer to 4. I'm taking the +6.5 and going with Atlanta. GL

The sixers need Hawes to have a chance with the better teams. That said, pound the Heat tomorrow.

Atlanta in control at the half. Up 14+ with the spread. First real good defense Philly has faced and they are having trouble running their offense. They need to get out in transition and hit some 3's if they want to stay in this game.
