On paper, Rockets RL actually looks like the best available pick, but such picks aren't working for me right now. I'm presently scared of outcomes that look too obvious. You may play the Rockets and somehow, one of their key players manages to get injured during the game and they use that as an excuse to lose.

The Hornets can't be trusted. You don't know what the Celtics are up to. Knicks is dicey. Lakers have the ability to cover the spread but they may not. Jazz may be without a point guard.

So I think Kings at home may beat an "unguarded" Jazz team.
The Pistons don't seem to play much D on the road anymore so the Over in the Pistons/Lakers game looks good.

If LA plays to their strength, they can cover but you never know what they're up to.
The 1Q of a Detroit/Boston game tends to be very cagey. They may just use it to size each other up. It's highly unlikely that the 1Q will go Over knowing how these 2 teams start their games.

As for LA/Phoenix:
* Over is 5-1 in the L6 meetings
* Over is 4-0 in the L4 meetings in Phoenix.
* Over is 5-1 in Lakers' L6 overall.
* Over is 7-2 in Suns' L9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600

Unfortunately, I didn't play the 1Q Under.
Both Lakers -4.5 and Over should cash. I went for the safer pick anyways, Lakers ML. My problem with the Lakers is whenever the find it easy to win a game, they don't bother about covering the spread. They may open up a big lead at some point in the game and then "relax" and let the opponents creep back into the spread. The margin by which the Lakers will win will be decided in the last 20 seconds of the game through fouling and other tricks known to them.
