Lakers 6.5 to 1 to win series... are you serious bro?

So nba teams are something like 0-98 when down 3-0 in a best of seven series... and the Lakers are only getting 6 1/2 to 1 odds to make the never been done before IN 98 ATTEMPTS comeback... get the F outta here stingy ass books!!!

Yeah, dunno who would take that bet. Get better odds just betting them to win each game. Take 1unit, let it ride, and you will be +16ish if they win 4 straight. Books must think we're complete idiots.

You really dont know what you are talking about, dont you?
+16 if Lakers win straight 4 and if you bet on Lakers game by game.

    Lets see,
game 4, Lakers @ Pinnacle 2.11 (decimal odds)
game 5, the best you could get here is 1.30 (as in game 1 and game 2)
game 6, again played in Dallas, so Lakers around 2.00 (probably less, but let say 2.00)
game 7, played in La, so the best odds around 1.30.

    2.11 * 1.30 * 2.00 * 1.30 = 7.13 (it is not exactly +16 as you said)
So, odds to Lakers to win the series around 6.5 or 7 / 1 are fair odds.

Fairplay, Lakers would not be favored in Game 6.

Guys I posted this in another thread. Can u guys help me?

I bet lakers series at -150 4.5x to win 3x.

Now I naturally wanna hdge back towards breaking even betting on the mavs.

Should I bet tonight on mavs to hedge part of my losses? Or should I let this game pass in hopes lakers take at least one and start hedging next game?

Of I hedge. How much should I? I'm thingking of putting 3 units to win 2. Thoughts?

When I hedge I only ever do it to cover my initial outlay. As I do all the research / run my little systems I'm confident that my initial bet is still the correct / prefered one. However, with sport being sport, strange things happen and rather than have a sure thing get beaten and be left with nothing, I place enough to cover my initial bet so I can move onto the next one if need be.

Alternatively, others I know prefer to run somewhat of a 'break-even' point system as you're suggesting here. I'd get on the soonest game possible rather than wait for the next one as there may not be a next one the way this series is heading. You also need to factor in your bankroll and see if you can afford to let it slide without the hedge, however in this instance I'd definitely hedge due to the current state of the series.

I did not say they would be favorites in Game 6, As you can see i counted odd 2.00 for game 6. Any way in all games to the end, odds on Lakers should be around 2.00, and only then we will have +16 as Qtip said if they win series.
So, i say again 7/1 is fair odd.

You said they would probably be less than 2.0 ML in Game 6. I disagree. I think they would be at least 2.0

    Game 4 1u @ +115 = 2.15u pay out
    Game 5 2.15u @ -120? = ~3.9u pay out
    Game 6 3.9u @ +115 = ~8u pay out
    Game 7 8u @ w/e = ~14units

    Get a clue noob.

Q, the Lakers would be around 1.3 in Game 5. Over -300.

Doubt it, but your prob right much worse then -120, maybe -220. Still looking at 9/1 depending on game 7 odds. Which is far from 16 but my point still stands game to game > 6.5 that the book is offering, makes no sense.

I also wouldn't take 6/1, but look at Game 1 and Game 2. Lakers were around 1.3 odds to win.

Could be less than -300, but definitely not below -250. If the Lakers win today, you'll see.
