    Rain never stops a race unless it's on the track

    Lightning can't strike within like 8 miles of the racetrack. Triggers immediate 30 min delay. Been that way long as I can remember always seemed like a bit much on the miles thing

    i thought the lightning rule was 8 miles?

    i remember going to races as a kid, even in the rain... granted that was 30-40 years ago and there was no track drying equipment, and tv revenue meant nothing so it was all about paid attendance and no refunds!

    Damn Mike u were there in the glory days! Have to admit I'm jealous. My first Nascar race was in 2003 I think in person. Bout time I started betting on it all the time
