Can someone please translate this bullshit for me?

I'd like to know how much they want to renew my scanner subscription and when it will be charged. Not sure from this if $19.95 is for six months or 12, and if I will be billed in February or June. Then it calls the $19.95 a discount I am lucky to get by doing nothing. Does that mean it's actually more than $19.95 normally for whatever period that covers?

Great to see the same PR idiots still write the emails for them. (sarcasm)

    Dear Opti,

Thank you for being a TrackPass subscriber. Due to the recent re-launch of NASCAR.com we wanted to take this opportunity to notify you of important changes to the TrackPass offering. Effective January 2013, the TrackPass Products that previously included RaceView, RaceView 360, PitCommand and Scanner will simply be known as RaceView. Scanner customers will receive a RaceView Audio subscription, with all other customers receiving RaceView Premium.

RaceView Audio remains unchanged from the Scanner product. RaceView Premium has all of the features of RaceView 360 including virtual video, multiple camera angles, complete customization and live race data.

Your annual subscription will now be billed on a seasonal basis starting this February and will automatically renew each year. Due to the transition, you will only be billed in June for the half-season rate in 2013, which is currently $44.95 for Premium and $19.95 for Audio. There is nothing for you to do to receive this discount so you can continue to enjoy RaceView for the entire season beginning with the 2013 Sprint Unlimited, Budweiser Duels and Daytona 500!

In February of 2014, you will be automatically billed the full rate of your applicable product for that race season.
The ALL NEW NASCAR.com has been redesigned with the fan in mind. Check us out to see the new layout, features and interactive sections. To access your subscription, simply LOGIN on the NASCAR.com homepage with your existing subscription's email address and password, then click RaceView in the upper right hand corner.

If you have any questions about your subscription or wish to update your payment or contact information, please visit our customer support center HERE.

To view the RaceView subscriber agreement, please click HERE.

    Sincerely, NASCAR.com.

Thought I'd click on contact and see if I could find out what the story is.

Pleased to see they had a live chat. So filled out the form and clicked start...

And to think I was pleased they had given Turner the boot.

    .
sounds to me like they will only bill once annually in Feb but as a renewing customer you'll pay in June and only pay for the 2nd half of this 2013 season @ $19.95 and the first half is free due to the transition. I guess that is the discount and the annual is actually $39.90? and that is ass.uming you only have audio and not all video extras. In 2014 you'll be billed regular full season amount in Feb.

Excellent work Rickie! I think you're right. And it's good news!

Full year for scanner only has gone up to $29.95 per year.

i read where they are taking away money to discourage start n' parks...actually will be a 4k purse differnce for each spot in the back now...not going to solve it but it will help it.....but like i said b4, some of those teams are now able to run full schedules after recieving that money for a few seasons, but i still hate it and think its not great for the sport in general....hopefully it helps alot, and at least Nascar is taking steps finally to discouage it...read that article on espn nascar section, its UNREAL how much money they made lst season between them

    check in Yisman

Think those start and park runners should at least run to half way to guarantee any prize money

Good part for back of the field watchers will be how hard these guys will try to be last man to park now. And those that don't try at all, we'll know were never planning to be a race team.

I could never fathom out the reason to qualify then park as soon as the race starts what's the point

That would never happen in formula 1 drivers have to finish the race within a certain time of the winner

I mean some of these drivers are 1000-1 to win a race I wouldn't back them at 1000000000-1

Exactly and saving money not using tires and gas. I understand why but rather see the hunt for more sponsorship and try being competitive

well that's because they will never run the whole race. They shouldn't even be listed.

books listed start 'n park drivers as under 2000/1 is a joke. Bovada lists them at like 500/1.

It would be like betting Tom Brady to win MVP of the Pro Bowl. He usually collects the paycheck and then invents a fake injury (the Patriot Way) to avoid having to play.

Start and Park are how a lot of the smaller teams build up enough capital to eventually run the entire race....it's a shame

My favorite Start n Park assholes ever.

    Phil Parsons team.

Had plenty of money for 2 and sometimes 3 great cars that could almost always qualify in. But never needed more than 1 engine per car for the entire time they ran.

122 starts, for 1 finish and 1501 laps turned between 3 cars. That's about 12 laps per race.

Basically just stealing a couple of million from actual struggling race teams like Brian Keselowski and Morgan Shepard.
