    oaktree pk6 carryover

ARCADIA, Calif. - There is a pick six carryover of $590,499 on Sunday at Santa Anita. Because it is closing day of the Oak Tree meeting, there is a mandatory pick six payout.

The pick six was so tricky on Saturday’s California Cup program that no one picked even five winners and consolation tickets that had four out of six winners were worth $742.

Sunday’s 10-race program begins at noon Pacific. The pick six covers the fifth through 10th race; the fifth race is scheduled for 2:02 p.m.

It will be a tricky pick six. There are full fields in most of the pick six races.

The fifth race is a maiden race for 2-year-olds over about 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course. Knights Who Say Ne and Dr. Zaentz are scratched, leaving a field of 12. Indian Sun, a game second in his debut on Oct. 13, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite. Cavanal, trained by Neil Drysdale, may attract support.

The sixth race is run over six furlongs for $18,000 to $20,000 claimers. The race has nine starters, which equals the smallest field of the pick six races. Jitterbug Ball, who drew the rail, drops from a $32,000 claimer, seeking to end a three-race losing streak. French Souvenir will be well-backed, as will Red State, the mount of Garrett Gomez.

There are 13 entrants in the seventh, a 6 1/2-furlong race for $25,000 claimers that have never won two races. The race has a wide-open feel, with Redundantredundant and Catch That Thief likely to play important roles.

The eighth race, the $150,000 Las Palmas Handicap over a mile on turf for fillies and mares, has 12 starters. Shermeen is scratched. While Black Mamba is the 7-2 morning-line favorite, Naissance Royale, Charm the Giant, Trick’s Pic and Meribel are worth considering in a race that will force bettors to spread their selections.

The ninth race, a $45,000 allowance race over six furlongs, has drawn a field of nine. Street Boss drew the rail and must break well to play a factor. He will have to beat Sixcess and Hurry Up Austin, who each finished third in his last start.

The final race of the meeting is a one-mile starter allowance race that has a field of 12. Dart River and Hescayerlessandhot are scratched.

Ballestero, third in an optional claimer against statebreds on Oct. 12, is the morning-line favorite, but has just one win in eight starts. Glimmering Pete, Arroyo Trabuco, Political Web and Judge Gallivan are worth a look.
