Any Given Saturday was awesome in the Haskell on this track, but his last race was not that great although he did win. Hard Spun has become very good/game in his last two starts, running away from Street Sense and in the King's Bishop when challenged in deep stretch. I was not a backer of this guy in the spring and not sure he'll get the distance, so I'm sticking with AGS with Gomez although might play Hard Spun as a backup.

He's a great horse, but he's one I just can't play or root for. The owners paid a ton for him after he broke his maiden, basically using the formula "what you can't do for yourself, just buy it."

I root hard against horse people like that. They just spend money to entertain themselves. They don't really care about the game, just want to impress their circles and get on TV.

Hard Spun was second in the Kentucky Derby to Street Sense. He was third in the Preakness Stakes, which was won by Curlin. And he was fourth in the Belmont Stakes. He and Curlin were the only horses to compete in all three legs of the Triple Crown. And while Curlin and Street Sense are sure to be shorter prices in the Classic than Hard Spun, Hard Spun has outfinished Curlin in two of their four meetings, and a victory on Saturday would even the score between him and Street Sense.

Playing Any Given Saturday unless speed is holding up on the track on Saturday. If speed is holding up I will throw Hard Spun out there. I don't think Lawyer Ron will show much on Saturday. Street Sense scares me a he seems to be in Kentucky Derby Form and if he goes out there like he did in the Derby, no way he will lose.

The last two times I bet on Lawyer Ron, he didn't even show. Ha, one time he was dead last. It's almost like he just gives up as they close in on the wire. Shying away from him. I like Hard Spun, Curlin and Street Sense. Oh course, now he will probably win...

This Breeders cup seems to be about trying to figure out which horse will move up on the off surface. My feeling is that Hard Spun will be that horse in this race. Longshot look at George Washington

I gotta tell you. I really think Hard Spun should have won this race. Coming around the turn he was pulling away and Pino literally fell asleep on this horse. He never looked back. He never sat down on this horse until Curlin had the jump on him. Bad drive in my opinion.

5 winners in 11 selections? you picked like 2-4 horses every single race. makes it rather easy when u do it. pick 1 per race and I will be much more impressed

This is not about trying to impress. Logic suggests that it is more likely to correctly select the winner when having two or more horses on your side. Having just one may be more "impressive" but that is a word that should not be included in your handicapping process.
