to me there's 4 reasonable excuses for this one.. having to go out to santa anita for the bc sprint last year.. all other races on the east coast.. sloppy tracks in the carter and forego (both grade 1's) and behind a crawling pace in the vanderbilt.. other than that he's 5/6 with the loss being 2nd by a nose in the vosburgh last year


R11 #3 tarnawa (6-1) turf

going euro here as it's considered a better product (although admittedly that isn't a secret).. like the combination of consistency, class and ability at this distance.. 1 of 2 euro grade 1 winners @ this distance (other #10 mogul)




R12 #4 tom's d'etat (6-1) classic

ran well considering he stumbled at the break and sat behind an extremely slow pace.. think will set up a lot better here and don't think the extra furlong will be a problem.. amazingly consistent runner

Race 6 I’m taking a shot with Sharp Samurai 15-1. Broke his maiden at the distance on dirt back 3 years ago in his 2nd start. Been a turf runner since then and this horse never runs a bad race. Tried dirt again 2 back in Pacific Classic and ran 2nd, just 3 lengths behind Maximum Security, who would be odds on here. Love his chances here at a good price

Race 1...#1 Nashville 4-5 single in early pick 3 and pick 5. Should tower over these.

Race 2...#6 Sleepy Eyes Todd 5-1 cuts back from route races to 7 furlongs. Has tactical speed to be in good position to pounce late

Race 3..#6 Fair Maiden 8-1 returned after 10 months off to try dirt for first time after successful 2yo campaign on turf and synthetic and won easily. Corey Lanerie stays aboard and gets Lasix for first time 2nd out off long layoff.

Not playing pick 6 but if I was, I would single Monomoy Girl. The outside post gives her a big advantage with her tactical speed and I think she wins the battle with Swiss Skydiver.

Here's my wife's ticket for Race 9. She spends 5 minutes looking at the DRF and couldn't separate for exotic's play so she puts $2 on all 6.
15 won at 73-1

and she would have had the Tri and Super ($28M for .020) but shes' cheap
