Australian filly Black Caviar extends unbeaten streak to 13
By Marcus Hersh
Black Caviar, the Australian 4-year-old filly who, at 130, is the highest-ranked horse in the world by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, ran her career record to 13 for 13 with a comfortable victory Saturday over top-class Hay List in the BTC Cup at Doomben.
Black Caviar came somewhat wide into the stretch run in the six-furlong BTC Cup, but whizzed past Hay List once straightened out by jockey Luke Nolen for her sixth Group 1 win of the Australian season. Black Caviar, a daughter of Bel Esprit, began her career – and her winning streak – in April 2009, and no horse has gotten within one length of her since September of that year.
