Agree with all except the 🦆. Big layoff in NHL usually not good.

Yup I agree- the prolonged layoffs are horrible. Hopefully ANA can quickly shake off the dust from their skates.

I'm a big Rangers fan. Lundy is top 3 if not the top goalie in the playoffs right now. I'm not worried about his ability to keep Rangers in any game....the problem for NY is their offense. They are so spotty and their power play percentage is awful.

They have to take advantage of the power play and score 3 goals a game and they can win any series against any team.

Yeah but Washington could have lost just about every game to the Leafs... these matchups have me scratching my head

    Blues/Preds might go 7
    I know Rangers will win
I do like the caps slightly better than the Penguins but series is a total toss up
Hoping the Oilers can beat the ducks but than again they might just get swept haha

Washington needed that tough series. In NHL teams that have a tough first round many times go on to excel.

I just hope all the teams have a good time out there

I personally am only on the Caps and the Rangers as far as series bets go

The rest I'll take game by game, having a good playoff run so far, wish I didn't have to wait til Wednesday for more hockey

Am I supposed to watch African round ball??

First round winners within each bracket play one another in the second round. It might work well for basketball, but I don't think you can apply the same logic to hockey.

Let's just file this under yet another FAIL for Gary Battman.

ps: I like the old format for all rounds

    Ducks
    Pens
    Rangers
    Preds

I wish a Canadian team would move on, but just don't see it happening. The interesting thing about this round is that there are no 'lock' teams IMO. In the first round I thought that the Pens and Hawks were absolute locks (proven wrong).

I prefer this format. Creates better/more interesting rivalries (or strengthens them anyway). To make it to the Finals you need to beat the best anyway, and it won't end up like this every year.

yeah you do need to beat the best...but not in the 2nd round of playoffs where you have 1st and 2nd best clubs in the NHL during the regular season playing one another
