Feb 22 - The Daily Breakdown

    YTD 27-23 +9.35u
    NHL 13-12 (+3.85u)
    NBA 10-8 (+5.35u)
    NFL 4-3 (+0.15u)

Big win by the Habs last night. First 3u play was a success, honestly quite surprised it even got to overtime, but the sweat was worth it. Writeup coming up on Boston vs. Anaheim, but will also play in the Edmonton game. See below.

Boston Bruins vs. Anaheim Ducks // Feb 22

    Drop the puck

The one late game tonight features the Boston Bruins (30-23-6) flying across the country to take on the Anaheim Ducks (31-20-10). The Bruins are in the second game of their four-game western road trip, having beaten the San Jose Sharks on Sunday. The Ducks will try and take advantage of their home ice as they play the next five out of six games at home.

    Out of hibernation

The Bruins are one of many teams wrapped up in a crazy postseason race that has engulfed the Eastern Conference. The Bruins are tied with the Florida Panthers for the final Wild Card spot with 66 points, along with the New York Islanders. Just ahead of them, the Toronto Maple Leafs have 67 points while the Ottawa Senators (70) and the Montreal Canadiens (72) round out the top of the Atlantic Division. Phew! Needless to say, it’s anybody’s race.

The Bruins have been hot since letting go of Claude Julien. They have won four games in a row and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. They have been steady on the road this season with a 15-10-6 record. The Bruins’ special teams have become a factor, they are first in the league in penalty kill and 12th with the man advantage.

    Duck for cover

The Ducks have been sinking rather than swimming as of late. They are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games and haven't been able to string consecutive wins together since mid January. They have lost six times in their last nine matches and have only come away with the victory five times in their last 13. Although they aren’t at risk of falling out of a playoff spot yet, they have been leap-frogged by the Edmonton Oilers in the Pacific Division and now sit in third.

They are 6th in the league in goals for, but give up just as many per game (2.5) which pits them 21st in the league defensively. The good news is that the Ducks have been a different team at home this year. They are 18-7-3 at home this season and are 8-3-1 in their last 12 games in Anaheim.

    The Final breakdown

The good news for the Ducks is that the Bruins are 1-5 in their last 6 games visiting Anaheim. Their 4 game win streak ends tonight and the Ducks take this one.

    Anaheim Ducks ML (+100) 1u

    Also:

The Edmonton Oilers are 7-0 IN THEIR LAST 7 VISITING FLORIDA!!! Yes, Florida has been playing much better hockey as of late, but Cam Talbot has been tremendous on the road. The only downside might be Edmontons back to back record (5-15 L20), but they've done fairly well when playing Vs Atlantic division opponents. Taking the Oil tonight as a dog.

    Edmonton Oilers (+135) 1u
