every game means something (2 pts now is same value as 2 in april). ducks will make playoffs and that's all they need to do have a cup run. look how many teams finishing 7th and 8th in the season make it deep. kings/devils in 2012 to name two examples. kings didn't make playoffs till the last day of the season. plenty of teams not playing to their potential right now and several who will drop off

That's what I mean Locke. Ducks are gonna make the playoffs. Doesn't matter if they're the 7 seed or the 3 seed. Same with the Red Wings. They've made playoffs what, 24 straight years? I don't see that ending. A lot will depend on injuries too of course. Wings don't have Datysuk Franzen Mike Green Brad Richards right now. That's 4 huge pieces. Jurco is also still training. He will be good. Naturally books will not be high on the wings because without those players they're a .500 type team.

Same way books are super high on Montreal right now just because they're at like a 8-0 or 9-0 start. I don't put any stock into these games, because we all know a 7 game series is completely different than beating a team in the regular season.

We can't anticipate injuries, and for my money, assuming all teams are healthy going into the postseason, I think that the Red Wings have far and away the best roster strictly on paper.

The stars have a really good roster too and so do the ducks. I'm not too high on the kings but if they make the playoffs they are hard to count out. Nashville is solid. Capitals could be dangerous.

glad we are on the same page! that's what makes nhl playoffs so much better than say, the nba (where the favourites win 80% of the series).

im thinking blues, stars, preds, wild and maybe hawks are the only teams definitely going to make it n the west...from what we've seen

east looks wide open right now. other than habs, very little dominance. and montreal hasn't been a good playoff team in years.
