The Phoenix Coyotes will fly into Calgary to face a more familiar foe in the Calgary Flames, after a quick two games against teams from the East. Both teams have been struggling to win games, beyond colossal measures lately, however, they are undergoing different situations.

The Calgary Flames were never expected to amount to anything this season, but they have showed great determination and grit to make things tough for top end opponents. Despite their position in the Standings, the team has been able to compete night in and night out, and did just that in their last two games against good teams. Phoenix , on the other hand, is very quickly seeing their season take a turn for the worst after starting off the campaign among the top of the standings.

As I have mentioned before, Phoenix is simply not that good of a team. Basically, they are experiencing more of a reality check than a midseason slump. The Coyotes have lost 21 of their last 28 games, and things will not be in their favor as they enter a colder northern climate after spending almost all of 2014 in the desert.

The line has moved in Calgary's favor despite the public being significantly on the Coyotes for tonight's match. It may be worthwhile to add that a lot of weird things are happening lately in the NHL with the Olympics just around the corner, however, that will be hardly relevant for the two teams playing tonight.

Calgary and Phoenix have experienced a see-saw effect in their last four, seeing from which both teams responded to their prior loss to each other with an authority win. If this continues, Calgary will avenge their 6-0 loss in Phoenix a couple weeks ago.

The bottom line, the Flames have been the more hard working of the two, and this is their chance to give their fans something to be proud of. Lack of talent has been the reason that Calgary has not been able to compete with the best of them to the extent of victory, but Phoenix is certainly not among the best of them. There is little talent in that Coyotes lineup, and with the Flames playing a more complete and determined game at this point of the season, Phoenix's struggles should continue unless there was a sudden epiphany yesterday.

I would strongly advise for bettors to grab the value in fading the Phoenix Coyotes (because of the line gifts still resulting from their hot start to the season), as today's current line movement suggests that this may not last much longer.
