I was shown something today that seems like it would work but there has to be some kind of catch that I'm not seeing.
There are only 4 different winning outcomes that can come out 2 different games barring ties in regulation. I was shown 2 games from tonight LA vs. Toronto and Minnesota vs. Anaheim. Then I was shown the 4 different outcomes and how to bet each of them in a 4 team parley. Here they are:
Outcome #1 LA and Minnesota win
Parley
LA: ML(-135)
LA: Regulation only -1/2 (+120)
Minnesota: ML (+120)
Minnesota: Regulation only +1/2 (-135)
10 to win 137
Outcome #2 LA and Anaheim win
Parley
LA: ML(-135)
LA: Regulation only -1/2 (+120)
Anaheim: ML (-140)
Anaheim: Regulation only -1/2 (-115)
10 to win 131
Outcome #3 Toronto and Minnesota win
Parley
Toronto: ML (+115)
Toronto: Regulation only +1/2 (-140)
Minnesota: ML +(120)
Minnesota: Regulation only +1/2 (-135)
10 to win 131
Outcome #4 Toronto and Anaheim win
Parley
Toronto: ML (+115)
Toronto: Regulation only +1/2 (-140)
Anaheim: ML (-140)
Anaheim: Regulation only -1/2 (-115)
10 to win 126
As long as neither of those games go to OT you will win one of those 4 parleys -30 for the other 3 losing one's. Even if 1 or both games go to OT you still could win if Minnesota and/or Toronto win in OT. So you are risking 40 to win anywhere from 96 to 107. That's about a +250 payout.
Considering that only about 20 to 25% of NHL games go to OT and when you take into consideration the fact you can still win if they do you would have to think you would win at least 50% of the time if not more with a great payout. What am I not seeing here? This can't be that easy!
