Some of you may have read this comment I made in TheShark's season long thread but I will repost it here to try and get some feedback on this play. TheShark started off crushing the NHL and has cooled off slightly but still 18-11 for the season. Obviously there is some serious skill in his system and it is proving itself!! However, he made a play that I had difficulty understanding, here was my comment in his thread:

Another question I have is last night the pick was TOR-140 including OT. Toronto has gone to OT 5 times so far this season and has not won once!!! Obviously those are some pretty awful stats that need to be considered. So, if a team is so horrible in OT why would you take them at -140 instead of ~ +125 ????? Especially against the Wild who have gone to OT three times this season and are 3-0.

Does anyone look at the team's OT history before deciding whether or not to play OT included or the puckline in regulation?
