Plenty of activity going on in the National Hockey League this off season. I'll try to post some recent happenings.
Toronto - The Maple Leafs hav avoided arbityration with defenseman Mike Fraser and signed him to a one year deal worth $1.275 million. The 26 year old had 8 assists and led NHL defensemen with 85 penalty minutes in 45 games. In 143 NHL games, Fraser has 3 goals, 13 assists and 171 penalty minutes.
San Jose - Center Joe Pavelski has agreed to a 5 year contract extension with the Sharks. No figures were given. Pavelski had 31 points in 48 games last season. In 479 games, all with San Jose, he has 336 points including 150 goals.
Winnipeg - Defenseman Zack Bogosian has agreed to a 7 year contract worth $36 million. Bogosian wanted a long term contract and he got one. He has 34 goals and 69 assist in 297 NHL games.
Winnipeg - Signed forward Blake Wheeler to a 6 year, 33 million contract. Wheeler has played in 372 career games (Boston, Atlanta, Winnipeg) and has 232 points.
