Awful performance by NY Rangers in playoffs

Almost the number one seed overall..they dominated the reg season....yet they are going to game 7 twice..not once but twice in the first 2 rounds. Add this as well..they were down 3 games to 2 in the first series..and were 7 seocnds away or whatever it was from being eliminated in this series...not a good perfromance.

They weren't 7 seconds away from being eliminated, they were 6.6 seconds away from having to face elimination.

yea they would not come out nearly goal less if they were facing elimination in game 6 trust me. The team was flat. I know they will win tommorow. People need to relax the rangers have been clutch are year long why stop now?

I know what I said...they lost game 6..if they would of not tied game 5 they would be eliminated..they are a very over rated team

Well I don't think they've lived up to the regular season hype but they have played reasonably well. In my opinion though Ovechkin is now firing on all cylinders and somewhat furious-which is a bad thing for NYR. Cheers

I guess you know more than Brad Richards you got to love the armchair quarterbacks who are dumb and arrogant enough to think they know more than the guys on the ice. I'm sure your beer belly and coaster hold all the on ice answers.

I played hockey up to the college level. Never said I was better then Richards or anything..that being said I am not one of these fans who think the team is there life. Maybe just maybe I have a point..watch number 2 game face..it proves my point..what the media believes and what truly exists...you can forward to the 2 minute 40 second mark and watch number 2...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Onfzet1xxs

It doesn't matter how many times you go to Game 7. Last year the Bruins went to 7 games in 3 out of 4 series, they ended up winning the Cup.

    End Thread.

Resilience is all that matters. The rangers had one of the best regular season records because they had one of the fewest amount of man games lost to injuries.

It does matter how you do in the earlier rounds as it is more likely a distance betweeen you and other teams. Is it proven persay..NO..but would you feel better if you won a horse race by 8 lenthgs or a nose..coming up to the next start

Just like the better ranked the teams are going into the playoffs..the better chance you have of succeeding. There are always eceptions to the rules...let's take the Rangers..in 1994 they easily dispatched of the Islanders and Capitals in the first 2 rounds..they struggled to win the next 2..but id think it is more likely they would of lost had they gone to 2 game 7's in the first 2 rounds

Agree on the Injuries....they might have the best goalie in the reg season on there team....but they do lack something special. If they faced a hot Penguin team..they would of gotten there clock cleaned

It isn't like the 80's or early 90's NHL when top seeds could breeze through opening rounds. There has never been parity like there has been of late. The Kings barely made the playoffs and they're going to the Cup. The Canes and Oilers played for the Cup in '06. Last year the Bruins could have easily been out in the first or second round with one shot.
The Rangers had a great year and one could argue they outplayed the Devils by a large margin in the last two periods of Games 5 and 6. They'll be in the thick of it again next year.
