So let's sum this up, cause it's pretty much over.

PHX cotes NEVER made a profit in its 15+ year history in PHX, yet Gary Bettman refused to move the team because he wanted it there in the first place. He refused to believe his model was wrong, and has done everything possible to keep the team there.

Then came along Jim Ballsy, RIM (blackberry) owner, and offered $212.5 million for the team, way more then the other offer of $150 million at the time. The 150mil offer Bettman wanted because it would keep the team in PHX, instead of move it to a much better market, and taking the bigger offer, make sense?

GB did not want the team to move because he wanted it there in the first place, and refused to admit his business model was a huge mistake. SO eventually, Jim B upped it to $242.5 million, and included up to $50 million to compensate Glendale. GB still said no.

The bankruptcy judge rejected JBs offer because the NHL had rejected him as an owner as per Bettmans request (the whole legal fiasco to prevent the teams move)

AND NOW? What did this ego maniac idiot loser Gary Bettman do?

Glendale will be stuck empty arena and mountain of debt, doesn't get the $50 million from JB, doesn't get a lease agreement of any kind, AND hockey fans in PHX STILL LOSE THE TEAM. ALL FOR NOTHING. Bye Bye 50 million.

DON'T FORGET, because of the NHL profit sharing, pretty much every team had to give MILLIONS in profit to keep the team in PHX another year, when it should have left, given Glendale 50 Mil, AND taken an extra 100 MILLION then JB was offering.

Now the team will go to Winnipeg for peanuts, prob 130-150 mil, WHICH THE PEG, is good, BUT a far less lucrative market than JB wanted to tap and one where the franchise has failed once already, THUS still making money in the PEG, but could have made TONS more in Hamilton, that's for sure.

The NHL (mainly the owners of the other teams) has lost tons of millions of other teams profits trying to keep the team operating and is going to end up getting a lot less than Balsillie offered for a team headed to a tiny television market.
