I find football the easiest for me mainly because I have followed it much more than any other sport besides Nascar.

    Question is a little vague.

Highest win % ATS: rugby union, due to personal knowledge and very inefficient markets

Most money to be made: college basketball, due to volume of games. You can come up with 20 plays a day easily with a 1.5%-3% edge at -110 with little time invested.

For the mathematically inclined, baseball is a slam dunk.

A staggering amount of data is freely available in database friendly formats. Equally staggering amounts of research has already been done and published by the sabrmetrics community. One only needs to adapt the most interesting ones to the gambling market (but don't ever mention gambling research in a public sabrmetrics forum!).

And of course, you can't beat MLB for the number of betting opportunities in a season.

I would say each sport has it's advantages and disadvantages.

I don't think the question is which one is the easiest, it is which one are you most motivated to research statistics and trends.

A walk in the park, surely.

Baseball by a landslide for me. I often find it the easiest to cap. As Mr X said, there are plenty of betting options. 5 Dimes has the most choices out of any of the A rated books.

Nascar. While Books are quick to update win odds, they often fail to adjust Top 5 accordingly. Can find value on HTH matchups as well.

They are certainly a bit touchy on the subject. I haven't personally incurred their wrath, but I've witnessed a couple poor souls innocently asking for help with gambling related research. There seems to be a pretty deeply held belief that the appreciation of baseball and gambling don't mix.

For winning percentage it's soccer. Don't play it much, but always on the favorite in a strong situation with a good return. I play only CL, and the leagues in Spain, England, and Holland. Never ever play the Italian league...

In the NBA the period mid-March to mid-April is best for me, and in the NFL mostly totals and dogs. I dropped all college sports.

Nappy headed hos is the easiest--I hate to admit that.

Plenty of stale lines--not too many sharps on that action.

I agree with the idea of baseball amongst the big three sports.

    Can't speak to soccer.

CFL, only 7 teams. Obviously not alot of games to play during the week (and a short season), but I've done well on the CFL.

Baseball for all the reasons already stated.

I've already chimed in on Nascar, but arena football has been good to me too. Some Books are slow to update their sides/totals.

Many years ago before I started using a handicapper, I had the most success betting on the NBA because I followed it so closely and could usually spot an off-line during a long season. However, I have always followed the NFL closely and I have always stunk at betting on it.

mlb for me. I dont really know why to tell you the truth. I think im just better at picking teams to win the game rather than covering a damn point spread. I am really tarting to wonder if ML Parlays are the way to go in College Basketball. I havent been gambling much at all but I have been following other solid posters and a couple are having some pretty nice seasons using the ML Parlay method in College Hoops. I just love betting baseball I think I do a good job of getting teams in good spots and just have a overall good feel of the game

Boxing. Knowledge of the sport is required, but the lines aren't nearly as sharp, particularly on the less publicized fights, as the major sports.

NFL, by far. Particularly money line parlays, which have been extremely profitable for me on a very consistent basis. Upsets are much less frequent than in the NBA and NHL and I find that the good teams come through for me more often than not.

I made a great amount of money on New England and Indy alone last year.

The smaller the sport, the easier it is to beat. I want to bet on underwater basket weaving, Scandinavian dwarf tossing, and middle-school basketball. Since these aren't available, I settle for Arena football, Japanese soccer and prop betting.

    RickySteve,

I'm very surprised you have CBB so low? For me:

    1 - CBB
2 - CFB (until last year, hope it was just an aberation)
    3 - NHL
    4 - MLB
    5 - NBA
