    Interesting strategy USFL game

    NJ was up 37-30 against Phila

    Phila with the ball around NJ 25(?) and about 1 minute left in the game. No time outs left

    4th and 10 Phila commits a false start so 4th and 15

    Instead of going for it, they kick a field goal

    The reasoning kind of makes sense because the onside kick is actually converting a 4th and 12 (from their own 33)

    Although if they convert it, the net result would be about 40 yards of lost field position so maybe not worth it

    BUT part of the reason I think they did it is because they didn't have any timeouts left and this gave them time to draw up a play

    Anyway, they converted the onside try because of a NJ PI but couldn't score a TD

    Final score 37-33

    NJ wins and covers (-2.5) although it would have been funny if the line was 4.5 up to 6.5

    Agree! I like the quirky rules plus having actual fans in the stands is huge - DC and St. L fans especially were all in! Quality of player very comparable to the USFL.

    Sorry dont mean to turn this thread into a Bash Usfl.I was all in on the usfl last year. All in on Xfl.I tried to get back in after XFL Season ended but i cant.Usfl needs to stop this bubble crap and get home stadiums. There may have not been big crowds in a few games but that is so much better.Plus the Fox fake crowd noise just ended for me.
