What does late line movement mean?

A line comes out at -6. Lets say sharps get it down to -4 early on in the week. It stays consistent there until 15mins before gametime. From then on it moves up and down back and forth alot.

If the spread moves back up to 6 in the last 5mins, who is making it move?

If it moves down to 3 in the last 5 mins, who is making it move?

Sharps. Big money comes early on faves, then comes late on both, but especially on dogs.

Lines move on money (excluding breaking news due to injuries, suspensions, etc). Big line movements are caused by big money. Sharps wager big money because they have large gambling bankrolls because... well, they are sharp. Therefore big line movements are caused by sharps. And the Taiwanese.

Last nights NCAAF game the late movement meant nothing except to suck people into thinking MT had value at 7. The books basically balanced and all was good in bookie land.

I laughed. There is no definitive answer to your question. It means nothing and everything all at the same time.
