Betting the run line vrs the money line

I read a stat where on average 27% of baseball games are decided by one run. With that in mind...when you find a difference of say 80 cents between the run line of one team vrs the money line of the other, wouldn't it make sense to play both sides and split the difference? If the game does not end up a one run game you profit 40. If you win 3 out of four games you earn a profit of 20...Any thoughts?...In addition to that...if the team you bet on for the money line does win by one run you still win.

Thats essentially betting the side -1

If the ML and RL are negative ev, combining them wont give you positive EV.

but you could lose all 4 of the games and lose all your money instead of making $20

It's playing the percentages, as you "should" win 73% of the time. The chances of losing all 4 of the games are approximately the same as losing with four -300 favorites.
