Is there a resource that provides reliable opening line information for NCAAF and NFL? I typically look at SBR's Live odds or Covers, but they aren't providing good information.

For example last week the Wisconsin @ MSU game opened at Wisc. -9.5 early in the week, but if you look at any of these sites on Saturday morning they say that the line opened at Wisconsin -7.5 and closed at Wisconsin -6.5. I am guessing they are only providing information for Saturday, not for the full week.

Any reliable sites out there?

Right, and SI has 7.5 at all books that opened the game the previous Sunday night.

LT, I distinctly remember on Monday of last week I was on SBR odds page and saw 9.5. Every other day that week it said 7.5. Perhaps there was just a typo one day? Or perhaps I am losing my mind?

I guess the core question here is whether the sites I mentioned are reliable? I have been losing faith but maybe I am wrong. Either way I think it is very valuable information to know that Wisconsin opened at 9.5 and immediately fell. I am tempted to start stalking the sportsbooks myself instead of trusting another source.

Again, at what book? The line opened at 7.5 Sunday night the 16th at Pinny and CRIS, got bet up to 9.early in the week and then came back down, never hitting 9.5.

SBR is about as it gets for free stuff.
If you want this data and want to archive it you should pull it from the xml feeds. I know both bookmaker and pinnacle have them available (bm delayed a few mins, but you're just looking for openers). a really helpful poster uva3021 has written about pulling the lines into excel a few times on here, and his site sportsobjective.com

Bodog and Legends both had 9.5 for a period of time on 10/17; maybe that's what you are remembering.

You are right, but even Legends opened at 7.5 before it went up to 9.5 and then back down. Bodog opened at 9, but they post openers much later and the consensus line was at 8.5/9 when they opened.
