NFL Player News - Week 6

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

PHI - RB Jay Ajayi out for the year

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 8, after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Free-agent DT T.Y. McGill (Chargers) was claimed in a corresponding move.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles are banged up at the running back position already and this injury doesn't help. Without Ajayi, the team has to turn to Wendell Smallwood to lead the way for the time being. Corey Clement is banged up with a quad injury or else he would be in line for a larger role. The Eagles may have to depend on Smallwood in Week 6 as they play against the Giants on Thursday night.

PHI - Le'Veon Bell not trade option for Philly

Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell has not been a trade target for the Philadelphia Eagles and likely will not be one even after the team created salary cap space, according to sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There were some rumblings about Bell being of interest to the Eagles but apparently that's not the case. Even with Jay Ajayi done the season, the Eagles seem unlikely to pursue a trade for Bell.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette to sit out Week 6

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) will not play in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys due to his hamstring injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars want to give Fournette as much time as he needs to heal. They'll once again turn to T.J. Yeldon as their lead back.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen hopes to return Week 6

Source: The Athletic - Joe Person

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) anticipates returning to action in Week 6 but also believes he will require a second surgery for his Jones fracture, according to Joe Person of The Athletic.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen's foot injury has been problematic over the last two seasons. He could return but obviously won't be 100 percent healthy. Fantasy GMs should temper their expectations upon Olsen's return.

SF - WR Dante Pettis to miss another game

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR Dante Pettis (knee) will not be able to play in the Week 6 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Trent Taylor makes for a 'what the heck' flex for Fantasy GMs with Pettis out. In Week 5 against the Cardinals, Taylor had seven catches for 61 yards and one touchdown.

CLE - WR Rashard Higgins likely out 2-4 weeks

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins (knee) is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks because of his sprained medial collateral ligament.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Higgins had three catches for 66 yards and one touchdown in the win against the Ravens on Sunday. The Browns will likely look for wide receiver help with Higgins out a couple of weeks. This injury could also mean a larger role for rookie Antonio Callaway.

NYG - TE Evan Engram posts limited practice

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) was limited in practice Monday, Oct. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Engram should be returning soon...but he may not quite be ready for Week 7. The Giants play the Eagles on Thursday night this week and Rhett Ellison would continue as the lead tight end for the Giants if Engram isn't quite yet healthy enough to play.

BUF - Buffalo meets with QB Derek Anderson

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Free-agent QB Derek Anderson (Panthers) is meeting with the Buffalo Bills Monday, Oct. 8, but head coach Sean McDermott said no deal is final at this time.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McDermott was with the Panthers when Anderson was there as a backup to Cam Newton. They've been kicking the tires on a couple of available quarterbacks (Paxton Lynch, etc) but have not yet signed someone off the street.

ARI - Arizona adds WR Kendall Wright

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Free-agent WR Kendall Wright (Vikings) signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals Monday, Oct. 8. Financial terms were not disclosed. The team also released CB Deatrick Nichols.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wright has value as a slot receiver but he failed to make the Vikings 53-man roster earlier this year and was let go before the start of the regular season. The only way Wright could have much of an impact is if Larry Fitzgerald were to miss time with his lingering hamstring injury.

SF - RB Matt Breida not seriously hurt

    Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida's (ankle) MRI on his injured ankle came back negative, according to a source. He is dealing with what has been called a mid-ankle sprain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's good news but Breida isn't in the clear for Week 6. We should see Alfred Morris get the start for the 49ers this week but stay tuned to the practice report on Friday. Breida has playmaking ability but he's also been banged up quite a bit already this season.

NE - RB Kenjon Barner back with New England

    Source: NESN.com - Doug Kyed

Free-agent RB Kenjon Barner (Patriots) re-signed with the New England Patriots on Monday, Oct. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barner was released by the Patriots about a week ago. He returns to the team as the third back behind Sony Michel and James White.

ATL - QB Matt Ryan had X-ray

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (foot) underwent an X-ray on his foot following Week 5's loss, but head coach Dan Quinn said Ryan will play in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ryan had a poor performance against the Steelers in Week 5. We're expecting him to perhaps be limited during the week of practice leading up to their Week 6 contest against the Buccaneers. Ryan should be a great start for Fantasy GMs against the Bucs as they rank 32nd in the league by surrendering an average of 358.0 passing yards per game.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker on the block

Source: The Athletic - Michael Lombardi

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker is reportedly available in a trade, according to Michael Lombardi of The Athletic.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins shouldn't expect much for Parker if anyone even makes an offer for the veteran wide receiver. He struggles with nagging injuries and has underperformed during his career. Parker also had his fifth-year option picked up for 2019 and is set to earn $9.3 million next season.

JAX - RB Corey Grant done for the season

    Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mia O'Brien

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Corey Grant (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Grant is hitting free agency in 2019 and should be healthy by that time. The Jaguars will turn to Brandon Wilds as the primary backup to T.J. Yeldon while their usual starter Leonard Fournette continues to miss time with a hamstring injury.

JAX - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins lands on IR

    Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mia O'Brien

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (core) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars now turn to Niles Paul as their pass-catching threat at the tight end position. There is a chance that Seferian-Jenkins returns later in the year but must now miss eight weeks with this designation.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller to return in Week 6

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) will play in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller was only available in emergency situation for the Sunday night game against the Cowboys. He was active but didn't see the field. Returning against the Bills next week, Miller should be considered a RB2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs.

    Wednesday Update

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson has shoulder strain

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (shoulder) is nursing a strained shoulder. He will seek a second opinion but is expected to be able to play this week, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson believes he can be ready for Week 6 even though he could not make it through the entire game against the Saints on Monday night. Watch his practice status during the week, especially Friday, when we will get more information on his status.

PHI - Philly interested in RB LeSean McCoy

    Source: WIVB - Josh Reed

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy interests the Philadelphia Eagles, who have reached out to Buffalo to feel out a possible trade, a source said Tuesday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy is under contract through the 2019 season and going back to Philly would be a boost for his fantasy value. The Eagles lost Jay Ajayi for the year with a knee injury and McCoy would provide an upgrade over guys like Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood.

PHI - RB Corey Clement logs full practice

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (quadriceps) was a full practice participant Tuesday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a boost for the Eagles offense to get Clement back out there. He is going to compete with Wendell Smallwood to be the lead back for the Eagles now that Jay Ajayi (knee) is done for the year.

JAX - RB Jamaal Charles inks with Jaguars

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Broncos) is signing an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Tuesday, Oct. 9, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Charles didn't look like himself last year with the Broncos. He may not be the player he used to be, but Charles still has some speed and instinct for running the ball. We should see him as the backup to T.J. Yeldon going forward while Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is still on the mend.

SF - Quartet of RBs work out for 49ers

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Free-agent RBs Shane Vereen (Saints), Charcandrick West (Chiefs), Andre Ellington and Matt Dayes (Browns) worked out for the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The 49ers are clearly looking for running back help. Matt Breida is going to miss Week 6 against the Packers, so the team should turn to Alfred Morris as the starter. We should see fullback Kyle Juszczyk get involved as a receiver out of the backfield.

NE - RB Kenneth Farrow back with Pats

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Free-agent RB Kenneth Farrow (Patriots) was re-signed to the New England Patriots' practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 9, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Farrow has been off and on the Patriots practice squad since August. He's an all-purpose back who gives them depth and a developmental player on the practice squad.

CIN - RB Thomas Rawls shown door

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals RB Thomas Rawls was waived Tuesday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals just picked up Rawls a few weeks ago. Even with Gio Bernard banged up, the team can lean on Joe Mixon as the starter and rookie Mark Walton as his primary backup. Rawls has been with two teams since training camp and may not have that many teams interested in his services now that he's back on the open market.

NYG - TE Evan Engram limited again

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants are hopeful that Engram will be back this week. The Giants play against the Eagles on Thursday night in Week 6. Engram would be a low-end TE1 for Fantasy GMs if he plays.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen in history books

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen is the first player since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to begin a season with five games of 100 or more receiving yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thielen is averaging a whopping 117.8 receiving yards per game in 2018. He was a breakout player in 2017 with QB Case Keenum and he's certainly become the favorite target for QB Kirk Cousins this season. Fantasy GMs know he's a must-start WR1 every week regardless of the matchup.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles remains sidelined

Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) remained out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 9.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles have a short week as they play on Thursday night against the Giants. They may not have Sproles back in action by that time. At least it looks like Corey Clement is returning from injury this week.

BUF - QB Derek Anderson signs with Buffalo

    Source: NFL.com - Adam Maya

Free-agent QB Derek Anderson (Panthers) signed an undisclosed deal with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This move makes sense with Anderson's history of playing backup with the Carolina Panthers...where Bills head coach Sean McDermott used to be defensive coordinator. Anderson was added to serve as a veteran backup presence behind young quarterbacks Josh Allen and Nathan Peterman.

DET - RB Kerryon Johnson says he's 'fine'

    Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (ankle) said following the team's game Sunday, Oct. 7, that he's 'fine' and that he wanted to finish the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson and the Lions have a bye in Week 6. That should be plenty of time for him to get this minor ankle problem taken care of.

Any news on jets corner Trumane Johnson? Didn’t even realize he was out when i took them last week, turns out didn’t matter but Keenam did throw all over their secondary without turning it over (which rare! Lol), read he hurt himself in practice last Thursday but havnt seen any kind of timeline for a return. Don’t think I can play jets this week without him on field.

Latest update I see is from last week, but they did say he would miss "several games".

    LATEST NEWS

Jets | Trumaine Johnson may miss several games (Fri Oct 5, 05:58 PM) - New York Jets CB Trumaine Johnson (quadriceps) is expected to miss several games because of the quadriceps injury he suffered during practice this week.

Appreciate it bud., think there a lot to like about jets again this week but as poor as the secondary performed without him is a big concern against luck. I do think jets will be able to get pressure on him and like their run game again this week. I could prob excuse the passing yards allowed against Donks cause they were playing w a lead for good portion of game, what concerns me is fact Keenam threw so many passes and didn’t turn it over any, guy is a turnover machine!! Is TY expected back this week?

Looks like Clement will be back, which makes for a decent combo with Smallwood.

***T.Y. Hilton had no chance of recovering in time for a Thursday night game. It's not yet known whether his hamstring strain is more than a low grade injury, but Frank Reich told reporters on Friday the team hadn't yet determined whether Hilton was day-to-day or week-to-week. That's likely not a optimistic sign. Teams usually go out of their way to list their players as day-to-day -- even when they know they aren't. Hopefully, Hilton is practicing on Wednesday and plays this week but prepare for another week on the sideline.

Well that good news, TY being out somewhat negates Johnson not playing for jets imo.

    Thursday Update

IND - T.Y Hilton not expected to play

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) is not expected to play in the Week 6 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton is considered week-to-week with this injury. Without Hilton, the Colts turn to Chester Rogers once again to do more. He's got 22 targets and 16 catches over the last two weeks.

NYG - TE Evan Engram ruled out

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) was not able to practice Wednesday, Oct. 10, and has been ruled out for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Engram is close to returning but not this week. The Giants will turn to Rhett Ellison again as their starter at the position. Even though TEs are brutal this year for Fantasy GMs you likely have better options than Ellison out there.

HOU - QB Deshaun Watson expects to play

    Source: HoustonTexans.com - Deepi Sidhu

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) said he expects to play this week after significant soreness from hits he took as a runner in Week 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watson plays at home against the Bills this week. The Bills pass defense is the 10th best in the league in passing yards allowed per game (234.6) but we still like Watson as a mid-range QB1 in Week 6.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette ruled out

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars roll on with T.J. Yeldon as their lead back. Behind him we'll see Jamaal Charles as the likely backup. Yeldon has RB1 upside against the Cowboys this week.

PHI - RB Corey Clement good to go

    Source: NJ.com - Mike Kaye

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (quadriceps) is 100 percent ready to go for Week 6 Thursday, Oct. 11, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clement has been down for a couple of weeks due to this injury. He returns to the lineup without Jay Ajayi who the team shut down for the year with a knee injury. Clement will compete with Wendell Smallwood for touches in the Eagles backfield on Thursday night against the Giants.

PHI - RB Jordan Howard a potential target?

    Source: SportsRadio 94WIP

The Philadelphia Eagles could make a move to acquire Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard, according to John Clayton, who characterized Howard as a sleeper candidate for the Eagles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles are looking for running back help with Jay Ajayi (knee) out for the year. Reports speculate they are considering a reunion with LeSean McCoy but perhaps Clayton is on to something here. Howard is a bit of an odd fit in Matt Nagy's system and would be an upgrade over Corey Clement or Wendell Smallwood.

SEA - Full practice for WR Doug Baldwin

    Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin's knee has not been a problem, but his usage has certainly hurt his fantasy value. We'll see if Seattle wants to get Baldwin more involved this week against the Raiders.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen a limited participant

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Olsen is on track to play in Week 6. He's been out since injuring his foot (again) in Week 1. Olsen will need surgery after the season so he's clearly not 100 percent upon his return this week. Fantasy GMs need to proceed with caution when considering Olsen....look at him as a low-end TE1 against Washington.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman misses practice

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Will McFadden

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman had missed some time with a knee sprain but he was back last week. This foot injury is new and Fantasy GMs need to watch his status in practice as the week goes on. The Falcons would roll with Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith if Freeman can't play in Week 6.

MIN - Limited practice for RB Dalvin Cook

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook has only played in three games this year due to this hamstring injury. It looks like he might play this week against the Cardinals, but Fantasy GMs are certainly nerfing projections for the Vikings starting running back. Make sure to monitor his status during the week of practice.

IND - TE Eric Ebron has assorted injuries

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (shin, quadriceps, ankle, knee) was unable to practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on his status as the week of practice goes on. Ebron has been coming through for the Colts, especially with Jack Doyle (hip) missing time. He's the no2 fantasy tight end after five weeks, thanks in part to his five receiving touchdowns so far this season.

NYJ - RB Isaiah Crowell doesn't practice

Source: The Bergen Record - Andy Vasquez

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (ankle) was absent from practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see Crowell face off against the Colts in Week 6. After his monster game against the Broncos he just needed some rest and gets that on Wednesday. We have Crowell in the RB3/flex range against the Colts.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill fully practices

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears are going to get after Tannehill this week. That makes him a low-end QB2 in Week 6.

IND - TE Jack Doyle week to week

Source: FOX 59 Indianapolis - Mike Chappell

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) is still week to week, head coach Frank Reich said Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Doyle may not return anytime soon. The Colts play the Jets this week and should continue to feature Eric Ebron as their top tight end although Ebron is dealing with injuries as well.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin unhappy with lack of targets

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin was only targeted once in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams and has only six receptions on nine targets for 42 yards through what amounts to be 2 1/2 games this season. Baldwin told reporters 'I feel good,' when asked Tuesday, Oct. 9, if his knees were to blame for the slow start.'There's a mixture obviously of being upset about the loss but then also only being targeted one time in the game. As a receiver, I'm not worth my salt if I wouldn't have a problem with that. I think every receiver across the league if they're being honest and truthful with you would say they're not OK with getting one target. But obviously, the course of the game, it was a shootout, we had to do what we had to do. There were a couple of times when I was getting double covered, so that opened things up for David Moore and for Tyler Lockett. So you (have to) do what's best for the offense and for the team. ... It happens like that sometimes. It's part of football,' Baldwin told Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The old saying goes; the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Baldwin is squeaking here and expect Seattle to fix this issue. Against the Raiders this week, Baldwin should perform like a WR3/flex for Fantasy GMs.

    Friday Update

LAR - PK Greg Zuerlein a limited participant

Source: The Orange County Register - Rich Hammond

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (groin) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11. It's looking like he'll miss this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

ATL - No practice for RB Devonta Freeman

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) was held out of practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It doesn't look like Freeman will be able to go this week at this rate. Consider Tevin Coleman a boom/bust RB2 against the tough Bucs run defense and Ito Smith a what the heck flex unless this changes.

SF - RB Matt Breida to sit Thursday

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) will not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 11, but has not been ruled out for Week 6 at this point. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Breida is considered day-to-day.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

San Francisco is playing Monday night, but you shouldn't wait around for Breida. Project Alfred Morris as if he'll start at Green Bay.

OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch tabbed limited as usual

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (hip) was limited in practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Against his former team (Seattle) on Sunday, Lynch should perform like a high upside RB2 for Fantasy GMs.

LAR - Limited practice for WR Cooper Kupp

Source: The Orange County Register - Rich Hammond

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (concussion) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kupp did not practice on Wednesday, so this limited designation is progress. We'll see if he can get cleared from the concussion protocol on Friday. The Rams travel to play the Broncos on Sunday and weather (snow) may be a factor early in the game. Keep this in mind if you're considering assets from the Rams passing attack.

LAR - WR Brandin Cooks listed as limited

Source: The Orange County Register - Rich Hammond

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks (concussion) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooks did not practice on Wednesday, so this limited designation is progress. We'll see if he can get cleared from the concussion protocol on Friday. The Rams travel to play the Broncos on Sunday and weather (snow) may be a factor early in the game. Keep this in mind if you're considering assets from the Rams passing attack.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson remains limited Thursday

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (shoulder, ankle, knee) was limited in practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson says he's going to be out there Sunday against the Panthers. We may see Washington rely more on Chris Thompson than they do on Peterson if he does play in Week 6.

WAS - Still no practice for WR Jamison Crowder

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) did not practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs have other options at the ready. Crowder may play against the Panthers on Sunday but we need to see him practice on Friday.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott practices

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott is the centerpiece of the Cowboys offense. There's no question that he's going to once again lead the way for Dallas...and for his Fantasy GMs in Week 6. It's a tougher match against the Jaguars this week but Elliott is still a RB1.

KC - WR Sammy Watkins takes part in practice

    Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We are so looking forward to the Chiefs/Patriots game on Sunday. Watkins played with this hamstring injury last week and should be considered a WR3/flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 6.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller fully practices

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller should play this week for the Texans after being active only as an emergency option last week. His snap count is a bit of an unknown so we're looking at him as a flex play for Fantasy GMs in Week 6.

HOU - WR Will Fuller a limited participant

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller's hamstring really bothered him last week. He didn't look like himself against the Cowboys and was only targeted three times, catching two passes for 15 yards. Fuller should play against the Bills but he's a risky WR3/flex option due to this nagging injury.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins limited Thursday

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins has dealt with his share of nagging injuries so far this year...and he hasn't missed a game. Fantasy GMs know that if he's on the field then he's a must-start WR1.

HOU - QB Deshaun Watson listed as limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's wise for the Texans to monitor Watson's participation closely. He should be out there against the Bills and is a QB1 for Fantasy GMs in Week 6.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook a full participant

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook is on track to play against the Cardinals this Sunday. He's a low-end RB2 coming back from this hamstring injury.

TB - TE O.J. Howard remains limited

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Howard will be able to give it a go this week, which splits the tight end targets and makes a promising matchup against Atlanta probably not usable for fantasy leagues this week.

IND - RB Marlon Mack practices in full

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack should be back this week, but he'll be mired in a three-way committee in a non-functional running game. He's only worth the preemptive add in very deep leagues.

IND - TE Eric Ebron misses practice

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (ankle, knee, quadriceps, shin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Erik Swoope is already the #2 tight end with Jack Doyle out. If Ebron is limited or out on Sunday, Swoope's basketball ball skills and top-end athleticism could be married to a high volume role at tight end, the toughest position to find points at in fantasy leagues this year.

SF - WR Marquise Goodwin logs full practice

    Source: 49ers.com - Joe Fann

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (hamstring, thigh) was a full practice participant Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodwin could be back this week and he did have some success with CJ Beathard last week, but this news is only a predicate for a preemptive add. We won't rely on Goodwin until we see him flash his speed on a big play in the deep passing game again.

SF - TE George Kittle sidelined Thursday

Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (knee) is not practicing Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We hadn't heard anything that would make us think Kittle's Week 6 is in danger, but he is playing on Monday night, so stay tuned.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen a full practice participant

    Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was listed as a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 11, and offensive coordinator Norv Turner said he remains on target to return and play in Sunday's Week 6 game against the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen should be back this week and should be in your lineup unless you have an obviously better option at the thin tight end position.

NE - RB Sony Michel remains limited

    Source: NESN.com - Zack Cox

New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) was a limited participant in the team's non-padded walkthrough Thursday, Oct. 11, and was seen riding a stationary bike during warmups.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots will likely rely on Michel to create long drives and keep Patrick Mahomes on the sidelines Sunday night. The late start makes this more complicated for lineup setting, but as long as the Patriots don't make another roster move at running back, you can probably count on Michel in Week 6.

NYJ - RB Isaiah Crowell sidelined again

Source: New York Post - Brian Costello

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (ankle) was not practicing for a second straight day Thursday, Oct. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowell comes into Week 6 red hot and facing a good matchup against the Colts, but this could set Bilal Powell up to have the big week in the suddenly strong Jets running game.

GB - WR Geronimo Allison out of practice

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (hamstring) has cleared the concussion protocol, but he's out of practice with a hamstring issue.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allison ended up participating in practice later and might be on track to play on Monday night in what should be a good matchup against the 49ers.

    Saturday Update

LAR - PK Greg Zuerlein to miss another week

    Source: TheRams.com - Myles Simmons

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (groin) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Denver Broncos. However, he appears likely to return in Week 7 after practicing on a limited basis twice during the week, according to TheRams.com's Myles Simmons.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Zuerlein is a strong kicker play but no kicker is worth tying up a second roster spot on. Consider adding him next week if he was dropped.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman ruled out for Week 6

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot, groin) on Friday, Oct. 10, was ruled out of the Week 6 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with foot and groin injuries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tevin Coleman will get the start, but Ito Smith has been as good or better than Coleman in recent weeks. Both have a tough rushing matchup against the Bucs this week.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen listed as questionable

Source: The Athletic - Joe Person

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) has been listed as questionable for Week 6 versus the Washington Redskins, although head coach Ron Rivera told reporters Friday, Oct. 12, that he likes Olsen's chances to play.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Olsen plays he's worth a start because of the weak competition at the tight end position, but it's certainly possible that he doesn't look like himself, or gets fewer targets than usual in his first week back. The Panthers offense has four viable wide receiver targets and Christian McCaffery.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette puts in some work Friday

Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was spotted running on a side field during practice Friday, Oct. 12. Head coach Doug Marrone later told reporters Fournette has a 'chance' to play as early as Week 7 against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Fournette can't go next week, the team could opt to sit him in Week 8 to get him the extra week of rest during their Week 9 bye and get him as close to full strength as possible for the run towards the postseason.

NYJ - RB Isaiah Crowell questionable for Week 6

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (ankle) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for the Week 6 game against the Indianapolis Colts. He likely will be a game-time decision.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bilal Powell will be a low-end RB1 if Crowell is out. Rookie Trenton Cannon could get some work as Powell's backup if Crowell is out.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard, TE Tyler Kroft out for Week 6

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (knee) and TE Tyler Kroft (foot) have been ruled out for Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

CJ Uzomah should have tight end targets to himself in this one with Kroft out, and in a matchup that has been good to tight ends this year. He's a viable streamer.

NE - WR Chris Hogan expected to play

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (thigh) is expected to be cleared to play in the Week 6 game, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This makes starting Josh Gordon a little dicier with Hogan being almost a full-time player and limiting Gordon's snaps and opportunities. Hogan is barely rosterable, but he is an impediment to value growth for other wide receivers on the roster.

LAR - WR Cooper Kupp expected for Week 6

Source: The Orange County Register - Rich Hammond

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (concussion) was able to take part in a full practice session Friday, Oct. 12, and he is expected to be ready for Week 6 against the Denver Broncos, head coach Sean McVay said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kupp should have one of the best matchups of the week in the slot and will likely remain red hot for fantasy lineups.

LAR - WR Brandin Cooks practices in full

Source: The Orange County Register - Rich Hammond

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks (concussion) went through a full practice Friday, Oct. 12, and head coach Sean McVay said he expects Cooks to be ready for the Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooks is safe to play. There shouldn't be much wind and the worst of the snow should be over by game time. We'll see if Jared Goff can be as effective in cold weather, although the Denver pass defense has been torched repeatedly and shouldn't put up much resistance.

HOU - Full practice for RB Lamar Miller

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller will still share with Alfred Blue and the Texans running game has been stalling out lately. He's only a desperation play against the Bills.

HOU - WR Will Fuller on track to play

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 12, but is not on the injury report for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller is safe to play as you normally would and a solid bet for a score against the Bills this weekend as long as he and Deshaun Watson can stay on the field.

HOU - QB Deshaun Watson listed as questionable

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watson is expected to play, but he needs to avoid taking so many hits to be sure to last the afternoon against the Bills.

IND - Questionable tag for TE Eric Ebron

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (ankle, knee, quadriceps, shin) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 12, but is listed as questionable for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ebron is expected to play and is an autostart with his strong performance at tight end to date, although it wouldn't be a shock if his afternoon is cut short by an accumulation of injuries.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson listed as limited

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (knee, rib) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thompson is expected to play and has a good possibility of 5+ receptions to give him a high PPR floor, but his injury status adds risk to his profile this week and going forward.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson limited

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, knee, shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Peterson will play, but he doesn't have much potential against a strong Panthers front seven.

TB - Questionable tag for TE O.J. Howard

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 12, but is listed as questionable for Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard was reportedly in a bulky brace and probably not going to be at his best on Sunday even if he does play. Cameron Brate may still work out as a streamer this week.

IND - RB Marlon Mack expected to start Week 6

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Zak Keefer

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) is expected to draw the start for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6 versus the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack will still share with Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins in a running game that hasn't gotten out of neutral gear this year. He's not worth playing this week, but his value could be surprising in a PPR league.

KC - De'Anthony Thomas fractures leg again

    Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs WR De'Anthony Thomas (leg) suffered a broken left leg in practice Friday, Oct. 12 - the same leg he fractured at the end of the 2017 season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs will have one fewer speedy versatile piece in this offense with the loss of Thomas. Demarcus Robinson could get more snaps in his absence.

WAS - Washington WRs get questionable tags

Source: The Washington Post - Kareem Copeland

Washington Redskins WRs Jamison Crowder (ankle), Paul Richardson (shoulder, knee) and Josh Doctson (heel) on Friday, Oct. 12, received questionable designations for the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crowder looks like the least likely to play, but with Alex Smith's play eroding, none are worth consideration. Jordan Reed could get more targets this week.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson, RB Chris Thompson questionable

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RBs Adrian Peterson (shoulder, ankle, knee) and Chris Thompson (ribs) are listed as questionable for Week 6, head coach Jay Gruden said Friday, Oct. 12, and likely will be game-time decisions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington could have to play Kapri Bibbs and Samaje Perine at running back this week in a tough matchup for backs against the Panthers. Their wide receiver group is also banged up, so it might be a long game for Alex Smith.

    Sunday Update

CAR - TE Greg Olsen expected to start Week 6

Source: NFL Network - Tiffany Blackmon

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins, and the plan is for him to be in the starting lineup, a source said Saturday, Oct. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen's foot injury is going to require surgery after the season but he's back now and ready as he'll ever be this season. The tight end position is brutal this year for Fantasy GMs, but a clearly less-than-100-percent Olsen is a TE2 in Week 6.

CIN - WR John Ross unlikely to play?

    Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (groin) is not expected to play this week despite being listed as questionable, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals are used to Ross missing time. The 2017 first-round pick has missed more games than he's played in over the last two years. A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd will be the leading receivers against the Steelers on Sunday.

SF - TE George Kittle questionable for Week 6

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (knee) was listed as a limited participant for the third straight day Saturday, Oct. 13, and he is listed as questionable for the Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Oct. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kittle is not 100 percent but reporters around the team feel that he's going to play on Monday night against the Packers. Even though he's not full strength, Kittle is still a low-end TE1 for Fantasy GMs if he plays.

SF - WR Marquise Goodwin ready for Monday

    Source: 49ers.com

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (hamstring, quadriceps) practiced in full for a third straight day Saturday, Oct. 13 and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Oct. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Goodwin is going to be back in action for the 49ers on Monday night. Fantasy GMs have better options out there. Goodwin has been limited by these injuries even when he does suit up. We can't trust him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex in Week 6.

SF - RB Matt Breida will be game-time decision

Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) was limited in practice Saturday, Oct. 13, and will be a game-time decision for the Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Oct. 15. If he is unable to play, a practice squad back will be elevated.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The 49ers have two running backs on their practice squad currently, Matt Dayes and Jeff Wilson. If Breida can't play then the 49ers turn to Alfred Morris as their starter. If that's the case, Morris is a RB2 or flex option for Fantasy GMs in Week 6.

BUF - QB Nathan Peterman remains No. 2 for now

    Source: WBEN NewsRadio 930AM

Buffalo Bills QB Nathan Peterman will remain as the primary backup to QB Josh Allen for now despite the signing of veteran QB Derek Anderson, who has only been with the team a couple of days.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterman is the primary backup for now. Anderson is the seasoned veteran and could be trusted as the main backup to Allen in the near future.

GB - TE Jimmy Graham not on injury report

Source: The Athletic - Michael Cohen

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (knee) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 6. The Packers did not hold a practice Saturday, so his practice participation is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham could put on a show Monday night against the 49ers. He's a TE1 for Fantasy GMs in Week 6.

CLE - WR Breshad Perriman to Browns official

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Free-agent WR Breshad Perriman (Redskins) signed with the Cleveland Browns Saturday, Oct. 13. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns needed to do something with their injury-depleted WR corps. Perriman, a first-round pick for the Ravens in 2015, never performed up to his potential due to injuries and inconsistencies. They just added Perriman so we don't expect him to be active against the Chargers on Sunday.

LAR - WR Cooper Kupp cleared

    Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (concussion) has been cleared to play in the team's Week 6 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The weather could be a factor on Sunday as snow is in the forecast for Denver. That being said, Kupp makes for a WR2 with upside against a Broncos secondary/defense that leaves a lot to be desired.

LAR - WR Brandin Cooks cleared to play

    Source: TheRams.com

Los Angeles Rams WR Brandin Cooks (concussion) has been cleared to play in the team's Week 6 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooks can stretch the field against the Broncos on Sunday. Even with snow in the forecast, the Rams should have no problem moving the ball against a disappointing Broncos defense. He's a WR2 with upside in Week 6.

GB - WR Geronimo Allison uncertain for Week 6

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for the Week 6 game, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a risk as both Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison are game-time decisions for the Monday night game.

GB - WR Randall Cobb to be game-time decision

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for the Week 6 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Same as with Geronimo Allison. Both Cobb and Allison are game-time decisions and risky plays.

OAK - WR Martavis Bryant questionable for Week 6

Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant (illness) was added to the injury report Saturday, Oct. 13, because of an illness.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He is considered questionable for Week 6's game against the Seattle Seahawks. That makes Bryant a 'what the heck' flex ...at best...for Sunday.

NYG - WR Odell Beckham Jr. fined

Source: New York Daily News - Pat Leonard

The New York Giants and head coach Pat Shurmur recently fined WR Odell Beckham Jr. for controversial comments made during an ESPN interview where he questioned QB Eli Manning's ability and his teammates' heart, according to a league source. Shurmur also had Beckham apologize to the club.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clearly Beckham is frustrated with his quarterback..and you could see that on Thursday night as Manning struggled to get him the ball on anything but short passes. We'll see if these two can work it out and produce at the expected level. The Giants have a long week to prepare for the Falcons in Week 7.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill questionable for Week 6

    Source: NFL.com - Herbie Teope

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 6's game against the Chicago Bears due to a right shoulder injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the Dolphins here if Brock Osweiler is thrust into the starting lineup against a ferocious defense like the Bears. Fantasy GMs should monitor this situation because this matchup is tough already and without Tannehill it would be a downgrade for all the Dolphins skill position players.

PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger bothered by elbow

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Darin Gantt

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) has been bothered by an elbow injury since the opener and won't throw at all during the team's upcoming bye week, according to offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Is this elbow injury the reason for some of Roethlisberger's inconsistencies? He said earlier in the week that it wasn't a big deal but clearly if they're giving him a week off of throwing then it's a concern to the team. Roethlisberger has commented on how he's got to work through pain in his throwing motion and that may be why he looks great sometimes then awful the next. The Steelers travel to face division rival Cincinnati in Week 6 and we've got him as a low-end QB1.

JAX - Jacksonville hosts RB Thomas Rawls

Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Bengals) took part in a tryout for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday, Oct. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jaguars are just updating their emergency list here. They added Jamaal Charles and David Williams about a week ago. Jacksonville is looking for running back help because Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is banged up and Corey Grant (foot) is out for the year. T.J. Yeldon leads the way on the ground until Fournette comes back.

Has Peterman ever gone through a game without throwing a pick six?

    Monday Update

CAR - No setbacks for TE Greg Olsen

    Source: 1 No Source

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) returned with four catches and 48 yards on seven targets in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen made it through the game without incident and appears to be back among the TE1 ranks. He'll be worth a start against the Eagles next week.

OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch totals 16 touches

    Source: ESPNFlorida.com - Tommy Rancel

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch rushed 13 times for 45 yards in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks in London and he added three receptions for 14 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch is almost impossible to trust in this Raiders offense despite a strong start to the season. He'll be worth carrying through the bye, but more as depth than a dedicated RB2.

SEA - RB Rashaad Penny totals 11 touches

    Source: 1 No Source

Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny rushed nine times for 43 yards in Week 6 against the Oakland Raiders in London and he added two receptions for 27 yards on two targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Penny still looks very able and talented but is third on the depth chart. He is on a run first team that is doing well establishing their will on offense and that makes him worth holding through the bye in deep leagues.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin bangs up his elbow

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin went for six receptions for 91 yards on eight targets in Week 6 against the Oakland Raiders in London, but he said after the game that he banged up his elbow.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin was making plays downfield for Wilson and gave reason for hope of his value returning after his bye, pending the condition of his elbow.

MIA - WR Danny Amendola targeted 11 times

    Source: ESPNFlorida.com - Tommy Rancel

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola finished with eight receptions for 59 yards on 11 targets in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Amendola could have some staying power against the Lions next week if Brock Osweiler starts again. He should dodge Darius Slay playing in the slot.

MIA - WR Albert Wilson has giant day in Week 6

    Source: ESPN Stats and Information

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson finished with six receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wilson has had some quiet weeks, but his two big games have been about as good as any wide receiver games this season. He'll be a consideration as a flex play in any given week on the strength of these big performances.

MIA - RB Frank Gore goes over century mark

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore recorded his 46th-career 100-yard game in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears, finishing with 101 yards on 15 carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore was as powerful as ever in the win, although he gave way to Kenyan Drake later in overtime. He's still just desperation depth as long as Drake is playing, but Gore showed that he's far from done heading into a matchup against Detroit.

CHI - WR Taylor Gabriel goes over 100 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel posted five receptions for 110 yards on his five targets in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabriel isn't going away as it appears that Matt Nagy is using him to run the Tyreek Hill deep routes and Gabriel is coming through. He's a high ceiling WR3/Flex next week.

CHI - RB Tarik Cohen totals 121 yards, TD

    Source: 1 No Source

Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen rushed five times for 31 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins and he added seven receptions for 90 yards on nine targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cohen was explosive as a receiver and effective in limited opportunity as a runner. He'll be a solid RB2 until he lets us down. Expect another good game against the slow Patriots defense next week.

CIN - TE C.J. Uzomah busy in home loss

    Source: 1 No Source

Cincinnati Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah posted six receptions for 54 yards on seven targets in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Uzomah came through in a ready-made matchup for streamers. He'll be back in our lineups against the Chiefs next week.

CIN - WR Tyler Boyd scores pair of TDs

    Source: 1 No Source

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd racked up seven grabs for 62 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Boyd was on fire going into Week 5, but slowed down against the Dolphins. The Steelers defense lost him twice in the red zone to account for his third big game in six weeks. He'll be a must play against the Chiefs next week.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen continues outstanding play

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught 11 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Starting a season with six straight 100-yard games is like Halley's Comet. Obviously Thielen and Kirk Cousins have a special connection and they will face a banged up Jets secondary.

MIN - RB Latavius Murray has monster game

    Source: NFL.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray rushed for 155 yards and one touchdown on 24 carries against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals run defense is eminently beatable no matter what the opposing running games were doing going into the matchup. Next week Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman will get to run against them. If Dalvin Cook isn't ready, Murray could be a solid RB2 play against the Jets.

CLE - WR Jarvis Landry held to 11 yards

    Source: NFL.com

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry caught two passes for 11 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Landry has been a huge disappointment since Baker Mayfield took over. He has a great matchup against the Bucs next week and many more good ones after that. He's still worth a WR3/Flex start next week.

CLE - TE David Njoku catches seven passes

    Source: NFL.com

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku caught seven passes for 55 yards and one touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Njoku does a great job owning the area around him in the air and should remain an every week TE1 start. He has the Bucs matchup that Austin Hooper lit up today next week.

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster targeted 10 times

    Source: 1 No Source

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster pulled down seven receptions for a game-high 111 yards on 10 targets in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith-Schuster had a must be seen to be believed reception over a Bengals defender at the one yard line. He's a strong WR2 going into his bye.

PIT - RB James Conner minces up Cincinnati D

    Source: 1 No Source

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner rushed 19 times for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 6 win against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added four receptions for 18 yards on seven targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Conner might end up as a committee back if LeVeon Bell returns this week, but he shouldn't become a backup. He might have more value than we think after the bye and shouldn't be traded pennies on the RB1 dollar he has established.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield throws two INTs

    Source: NFL.com

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield went 22-for-46 for 238 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mayfield was let down by Antonio Callaway on possible touchdowns twice, and he's entering a very easy stretch of pass defenses starting with Tampa Bay next week, so he's still a viable streamer.

LAC - WR Tyrell Williams accounts for two TDs

    Source: NFL.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams caught three passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams came down with one score in triple coverage and left a mark on the Browns defense in this one. With this kind of ceiling and the deep passing game getting into focus, Williams will be worth a what the heck flex start against Tennessee.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson just misses 100 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, knee, shoulder) not only played in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, but he played well with 97 rushing yards on 17 carries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson gave Washington everything he had despite his multiple injuries. He's still worth an RB2 start against Dallas, especially with Chris Thompson banged up.

CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey goes nowhere on ground

    Source: 1 No Source

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed eight times for 20 yards in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins while adding seven grabs for 46 yards on eight targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCaffrey salvaged a contribution in PPR leagues with his receptions as the Panthers were on the comeback trail, but still had to deal with a deeper group of targets splitting up the passing pie. He'll be more of an RB2 than RB1 against the Eagles next week.
