NFL Player News - Week 4

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo suffers torn ACL

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was feared but also expected by the 49ers after the quarterback's injury on Sunday. There are reports that indicate he could have MCL damage as well but that is not confirmed. We'll see if Garoppolo is back for the start of the 2019 season. Right now, the 49ers will turn to C.J. Beathard as their starting quarterback.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook unsure about Week 4

    Source: ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) considers himself day-to-day and suggests there's a 'good chance' he'll play in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Last week there seemed to be a confidence about Cook playing in Week 4. We'll know more about his status as the week of practice rolls on.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery still not cleared

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) still has not been cleared for contact, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're getting closer to Jeffery's return. Fantasy GMs have been waiting patiently...and so have the Eagles. When Jeffery is back on the field (especially with QB Carson Wentz back in action) we like him as a WR2 or flex option. Keep an eye on the practice report this week.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy is progressing well

Source: WGR Sports Radio 550 - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is making progress and considered day-to-day as he continues to recover from cracked rib cartilage, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bills offense showed life on Sunday in a big win over the Vikings...and they did that without McCoy. It's good news they showed that spark, and it helps give us optimism about McCoy's potential upon his return. Rib injuries all come down to pain tolerance. We should see McCoy limited during the week of practice.

ARI - QB Josh Rosen named starter

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen has been named the starting quarterback for Week 4, according to head coach Steve Wilks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cardinals are at home against the Seahawks in Week 4. The rookie got into the game against the Bears on Sunday and moved the chains. Rosen is smart and can get rid of the ball quickly. Fantasy GMs should only consider him a low-end QB2 or streaming option.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield rises to top of depth chart

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield was named the team's starting quarterback Monday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mayfield is the future of the Browns and after leading them to a win over the Jets in Week 3 the future is now. The rookie brings exciting play to the field but Fantasy GMs should only see him as a QB2 or streaming option in deep leagues.

NYG - TE Evan Engram has sprained MCL

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) has a sprained medial collateral ligament, and he'll be viewed as week to week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Engram could miss a few weeks with this injury. The Giants will now turn to Rhett Ellison but Fantasy GMs have better options out there if you need TE help.

SF - RB Matt Breida has hyperextended knee

    Source: NFL.com - Herbie Teope

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (knee) suffered a hyperextended knee during the Week 3 game and is considered questionable for the Week 4 game, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida suffered the injury on Sunday in the second quarter but he stayed in the game and made some big plays for the 49ers against the Chiefs. We'll see if he can continue to work through this injury and post RB3/flex numbers for Fantasy GMs.

SF - Two more QBs to work out for 49ers

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent QBs Kellen Clemens (Chargers) and T.J. Yates (Texans) are scheduled to work out for the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday, Sept. 25. The 49ers also asked free-agent QB Matt Moore (Dolphins) to participate in the workout but are not sure if he will be attending.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

C.J. Beathard is set to be the starter for the 49ers with Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) done for the year. Behind him, the 49ers have to find a reliable backup. The only other quarterback on the roster is Nick Mullens...and he's on the practice squad. They'll add to the room in the near future.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin uncertain for Week 4

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin's (knee) status for Week 4 is uncertain at this point, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're getting close to Baldwin's return. He was injured in Week 1 against the Broncos and the word was he was going to be out a couple of weeks. We'll have to see if Baldwin can get back to practice in the near future.

SEA - RB C.J. Prosise dealing with injury

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (groin) was inactive for the Week 3 game because he dealing with groin discomfort during pregame warmups, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prosise is banged up quite a bit and he's not involved in the gameplan much when he is available. The Seahawks roll with Chris Carson as their lead back and 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny as a primary backup.

BAL - TE Hayden Hurst to practice soon?

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens TE Hayden Hurst (foot) could return to practice this week, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurst could be a borderline TE1 for Fantasy GMs when he's at full strength. The rookie first-round pick has the talent to become a favorite target of QB Joe Flacco. Grab him on waivers if someone got impatient and dumped him in your league.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson nursing sprained ankle

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, according to head coach Jay Gruden, who added he expects Peterson to be ready to play when the team returns to action in Week 5 following its bye.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The veteran got a little banged up running all over the Packers defense on Sunday. Washington has a bye in Week 4 and we fully expect Peterson back in Week 5.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota still limited

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) is still unable to make every throw he needs to make, according to head coach Mike Vrabel, who added he hopes the 'whole package can come back this week.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota came off the bench in Week 3 to lead the Titans to a road win against the Jaguars. He's certainly not at full strength but perhaps he'll improve enough over the week to get his normal workload and expected gameplan.

CLE - No Monday practice for QB Tyrod Taylor

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion) did not practice Monday, Sept. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Taylor was replaced in the game by Baker Mayfield, and the rookie led the Browns to their first win in 635 days. It's a no-brainer decision to go with Mayfield from here on out and that's why he moved to the top of the depth chart. We'll see if Taylor can get cleared from the concussion protocol at some point this week.

PHI - RB Jay Ajayi, RB Darren Sproles likely back Week 4

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles RBs Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) are expected to play in Week 4 versus the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Eagles backfield. Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement were the team's leading rushers on Sunday against the Colts with 56 rushing yards each. If Ajayi is in the game, he should be the lead back for the Eagles. Fantasy GMs are familiar with this backfield getting split up, so look at Ajayi as more of a low-end RB2 or flex play when he returns.

DEN - RB Devontae Booker leaned on in passing game

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker had seven of his 10 touches after the team fell behind by 13 points in the third quarter as the team trusts him in the passing game as a blocker and receiver. He had 26 snaps on offense overall for 38 percent of the offense.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The only reason we saw more from Booker is because Phillip Lindsay was ejected from the game for throwing a punch. Booker is likely to be used as the third back behind Lindsay and Royce Freeman. Even though Booker is second on the depth chart (behind Freeman), the team doesn't seem to want to use him much in the gameplan.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski confirms trade talks

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski confirmed a report that he was nearly traded to the Detroit Lions, but he wouldn't have reported there or anywhere else. That nixed the deal. 'Yeah it happened,' Gronkowski said. 'Brady's my quarterback.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rumors were swirling about the Lions, Browns and 49ers all being interested in trading for Gronkowski. There was also the talk about him retiring soon too. Either way, Gronkowski is with the Patriots and a set-it-and-forget-it starter for Fantasy GMs every week.

    Wednesday Update

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook says "Good chance" to play Thursday

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Andrew Krammer

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) said Tuesday, Sept. 25, his injured hamstring 'feels great at this point' and expects to play Thursday, Sept. 27, against the Los Angeles Rams. 'Yeah, there's a good chance,' Cook said. He was however, limited in practice Tuesday.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was expected last week after Cook missed the game against the Bills. The Rams defense is banged up but they present a great challenge for Cook and the Vikings offense. After three weeks, the Rams rush defense ranks 9th in the league allowing only an average of 96.7 yards per game. Check his Wednesday status before making a lineup decision.

NE - QB Tom Brady struggling outside numbers

Source: NFL Network - Mike Giardi

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was 1-for-9 for 12 yards targeting wide receivers outside the numbers during Weeks 2 and 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Brady can improve on these numbers...especially when Josh Gordon gets on the field. Gordon was inactive for Week 3 against the Lions but he should be out there against the Dolphins in Week 4. Julian Edelman is eligible to return from his four-game suspension in Week 5. Reinforcements are on the way for the Patriots passing attack.

NFL - QB Matt Moore declines workouts

    Source: TitanInsider.com - Terry McCormick

Free-agent QB Matt Moore (Dolphins) has chosen not to work out for the Tennessee Titans or San Francisco 49ers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moore would be an upgrade for the Titans and 49ers as a veteran backup. Perhaps he doesn't like the fit with either team. There have been rumblings that Moore's arm is shot and that's why he didn't get the starting job last year in Miami when Ryan Tannehill went down with a season-ending injury.

PIT - Coach not discussing Le'Veon Bell situation

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell remains away from the team, and head coach Mike Tomlin refused to discuss the situation Tuesday, Sept. 25. 'I'm not talking Le'Veon -- I'm just not,' Tomlin said at his weekly news conference. 'There's nothing new to add.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The last we heard about Bell was that the Jets may have interest in trading for him. If the Steelers are taking calls on Bell, one has to wonder just how much they could get in return. Sure, Bell is a superstar but any patient team can wait until next offseason to get him on the open market.

    Thursday Update

NE - RB Rex Burkhead headed to IR

Source: The Boston Globe - Jim McBride

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (neck) is going on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Neck injuries are incredibly tricky to deal with so we may not see Burkhead back this season. Sony Michel has taken over as the lead back and James White is going to get plenty of passing-down work with Burkhead out.

NYG - TE Evan Engram out 2-4 weeks

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) has a moderate sprain of his medial collateral ligament, and he's estimated to miss two to four weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As expected, it looks like Engram is going to miss a couple of games for the Giants. They'll turn to Rhett Ellison as their top tight end, but Fantasy GMs should have better options available via the waiver wire.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy will play

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) said he is playing this week despite dealing with cracked rib cartilage.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're just a little bit more excited about McCoy's potential since the Bills offense showed some life (without him) last week. Traveling to play the Packers in Week 4, McCoy should be projected as a RB3 or flex option for Fantasy GMs.

TB - QB Jameis Winston could be activated Friday

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has a three-day roster exemption before the team has to activate him from the Commissioner's Exempt list Friday, Sept. 28.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston can come back this week but the Buccaneers are likely to move forward (for one more week at least) with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starter. We'll see how long Fitzpatrick can hold off Winston for the top spot.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette limited in practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette and the Jaguars are trying to bounce back after a loss against the Titans last week. Up next are the Jets, so Fournette should post RB1 numbers in Week 4. The Jets rush defense ranks 12th in the league, giving up an average of 102.3 yards on the ground per game.

CIN - Optimism for WR A.J. Green

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (groin) aggravated a college injury but is expected to play this weekend.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals could get into a shootout with the Falcons on Sunday. Green is not 100 percent healthy but Fantasy GMs know to trust him anytime he's on the field. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Green has been taking anti-inflammatory medication that is 'clearing everything up.'

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers not practicing

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is absent from practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is likely to be the strategy for Rodgers all season long while he deals with this knee problem. Rodgers only practiced on Saturday last week and head coach Mike McCarthy said he doesn't know if Rodgers will practice any earlier this week.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery cleared for contact

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) has been cleared for contact Wednesday, Sept. 26, but there's no decision on his availability for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a positive sign for Jeffery but it doesn't mean he's locked into playing on Sunday. Early speculation had Jeffery missing about a month to begin the regular season. It sounds like he's on track to return in the near future.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski not seeing double

    Source: WEEI.com - Ryan Hannable

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has only seen double coverage on 26 percent of the 50 routes he has ran in the last two weeks.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

After a huge game against the Texans in Week 1 (7 catches, 123 yards, 1 touchdown), we haven't seen much from Gronkowski over the last two weeks. If he's not getting double teamed, Tom Brady should look to him as much as he did in the season opener.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman doesn't practice

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) did not take part in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's about ready to return but Freeman might have to miss another week. That makes Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith the top options for the Falcons in Week 4.

NE - WR Josh Gordon listed as limited

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs are waiting for Gordon to make his debut with the Patriots. In a big divisional game against the Dolphins on Sunday it would be a boost to have him out there for Tom Brady and company.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota dubbed Week 4 starter

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) was named the starting quarterback for Week 4 Wednesday, Sept. 26, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. QB Blaine Gabbert (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota came off the bench last week to lead the Titans to the win over the Jaguars after Gabbert was knocked out of the game. We're not excited about starting him (even in start-2 QB leagues) against the Eagles on Sunday.

CHI - Anthony Miller does not practice

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears WR Anthony Miller (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 26 due to a shoulder injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie got banged up in the win over the Cardinals on Sunday. We love him in dynasty formats, but Fantasy GMs have better options in redraft leagues.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon unable to practice

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There is a chance that Mixon returns to the field this week. Limited to the exercise bike on Wednesday, Mixon has a long way to go before he's out there in a game. Gio Bernard remains the lead back while Mixon remains on the mend.

HOU - WR Will Fuller practices on limited basis

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller is getting some rest on that problematic hamstring. He has played in each of the last two games and provides great big play ability for the Texans and Fantasy GMs.

PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster misses practice

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (abdomen) sat out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith-Schuster needs to be near full strength in Week 4. The Steelers have a huge game on Sunday night against the Ravens. Smith-Schuster is a high-end WR2 for Fantasy GMs and clearly a favorite target of Ben Roethlisberger.

IND - TE Eric Ebron misses Wednesday's practice

    Source: Colts.com - Andrew Walker

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (shoulder, knee) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 26 due to a shoulder and knee ailment.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch his status as the week goes on. Eric Ebron makes for a TE1 so long as Jack Doyle is down with an injury. Fantasy GMs can look at him as a top 10 option against the Texans in Week 4.

IND - TE Jack Doyle unable to practice

    Source: Colts.com - Andrew Walker

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) did not take part in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eric Ebron makes for a TE1 so long as Doyle is down with an injury. Fantasy GMs can look at him as a top 10 option against the Texans in Week 4.

IND - RB Marlon Mack works in limited practice

    Source: Colts.com - Andrew Walker

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on Mack as the week of practice goes on. Mack has only appeared in one game this year and the Colts have struggled to run the ball in 2018. They rank 29th in the league with an average of only 82.3 rushing yards per game.

GB - TE Jimmy Graham absent Wednesday

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (knee) was not able to practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a veteran day of rest...most likely...for Graham here. Fantasy GMs should double check on Friday to see if he is back in action. The Packers take on the Bills this week and Graham has TE1 upside anytime he's on the field.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill fully practices

    Source: MiamiDolphins.com

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Sept. 26.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins are undefeated, thanks in large part to the play of Tannehill. They travel for a huge divisional matchup against the Patriots on Sunday. We like Tannehill as a low-end QB1 for Fantasy GMs.

    Friday Update

LAC - WR Keenan Allen sits again

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (knee, tooth) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen has a good matchup against the 49ers this week. We've got him as a WR2 option for Fantasy GMs.

OAK - Another limited practice for RB Marshawn Lynch

    Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch should give it a go against the Browns on Sunday. He's a RB2 for Fantasy GMs this week, but make sure he practices on Friday.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette limited

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette should be leading the way on the ground for the Jaguars once again this week. We like him as a low-end RB1 against the Jets on Sunday.

DEN - QB Case Keenum fully practices

    Source: NFLCommunications.com

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keenum is practicing with a knee brace for the first time this year. He wore the brace against the Ravens in Week 3 after experiencing some knee soreness after the game against the Raiders in Week 2. Broncos head coach Vance Joseph insists that Keenum is totally fine and the veteran quarterback was reported to be moving around well during practice on Thursday. They'll need Keenum at his best against the Chiefs on Monday night.

NO - Full practice for RB Alvin Kamara

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The knee problem is no big deal for Kamara. Fantasy GMs know he's a set-it-and-forget-it starter each week.

TB - QB Jameis Winston activated

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston was activated from the reserve/suspended list on Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston is back in action but he could be the backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick. The team has yet to make anything official but it would make sense to go with Fitzpatrick until he cools off.

DEN - TE Jake Butt may have torn ACL

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and James Palmer

Denver Broncos TE Jake Butt (knee) may have suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during a walkthrough Thursday, Sept. 27, according to sources. He is undergoing an MRI to determine the injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Butt was an intriguing dynasty prospect we were monitoring closely. He was the leading target at the TE position for the Broncos but only had 8 catches for 85 yards in three games. This is his third ACL injury and the second one to his left knee. A fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft, Butt missed all of his rookie season as he recovered from a right ACL injury suffered in his final college game at Michigan. He's only played three games as a pro and is hurt again. The Broncos now turn to Jeff Heuerman to do more.

ATL - WR Julio Jones limited

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (calf) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones is a WR1 for Fantasy GMs anytime he's on the field. He should be fine for Week 4 but make sure to check on his status Friday.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman limited Thursday

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman is getting close to returning...and he just might be back this week. Initial reports indicated Freeman would miss Week 4 and seemed almost a lock to return in Week 5. This limited designation may change that line of thinking. Stay tuned.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski limited

    Source: NESN.com - Zack Cox

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski should be fine for the Week 4 game against the Dolphins. After catching seven passes in Week 1 (for 123 yards), Gronkowski has only six catches in two games. Expect the Patriots to fix that and get Gronkowski more involved in a huge division game on Sunday.

NE - WR Josh Gordon limited again

    Source: NESN.com - Zack Cox

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon might be able to play against the Dolphins on Sunday. If he plays, we can only trust him as a crazy deep 'what the heck' flex in Week 4.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota fully practices

    Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good sign for Mariota who returns to the starting lineup this week. His elbow is not 100 percent but he should be serviceable against the Eagles on Sunday.

PHI - RB Jay Ajayi has full practice

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi (back) logged a full practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ajayi says he's dealing with a back fracture and his availability will come down to pain tolerance. We like him as a RB3 or flex option in Week 4.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy remains limited

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (rib) was still limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy has some flex appeal if he returns this weekend (as he has said he will) with Josh Allen breathing life into this offense.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard listed as limited

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (thigh) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll watch Bernard's practice participation tomorrow closely, but for now there's no reason to think he won't start and be worth at least an RB2 look against the Falcons this weekend.

CIN - WR A.J. Green says he feels great

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (pelvis) said Thursday, Sept. 27, that he feels great and will practice for the second straight day.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green should be back for a potential shootout with the Falcons this week. His presence may take some targets away from Tyler Boyd, but Boyd and Andy Dalton are both playing well enough to keep Boyd in consideration for your WR3/Flex spot.

    Saturday Update

CIN - WR A.J. Green not on injury report

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (pelvis) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green is safe to play and has a high ceiling against a Falcons defense missing both of their starting safeties.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin to return Week 4

    Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) has 'looked great in practice' this week and been cleared to play in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin's return should be a boost to the Seahawks pass offense and Russell Wilson. The Cardinals are unlikely to have Patrick Peterson follow Baldwin in the slot, so this hurts the outlook of Tyler Lockett.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette logs full practice Friday

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Phillip Heilman

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 28, but is listed as questionable on the injury report for Week 4 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The full practice is the best we could have hoped for today. Check back Sunday morning to be sure, but it looks like Fournette can go back into our lineups this week.

ARI - Questionable tag for WR Larry Fitzgerald

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzgerald could benefit from Josh Rosen being installed at quarterback, but he's not 100% and probably should be on your bench this week against the Seahawks.

SEA - RB Chris Carson a game-time decision

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (hip) will be a game-time decision for the Week 4 game, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Carson has said he plans to play this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rashaad Penny could be a Week 4 sleeper if Carson is out. The Seahawks were committed to the run last week and should get a run-friendly game script against the Cardinals this week.

SF - RB Matt Breida to be game-time decision

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (knee) was downgraded from a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 28, to a limited session and told reporters afterward he will be game-time decision in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida is playing a late game, so we can't have the luxury of waiting on him. Alfred Morris isn't 100% either, so Kyle Juszczyk will play a big role on Sunday.

PHI - RB Jay Ajayi ready for Week 4

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi (back) practiced in full for a second straight day Friday, Sept. 28 and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 4 game with the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ajayi's back injury is a pain management issue and it sounds like that isn't a problem for him. The Eagles run blocking has been terrific this year, especially in the red zone, where Ajayi already has three scores in less than two games. He's an RB2 this week.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski listed as questionable

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski hasn't gotten in a full practice this week and will require checking on Sunday morning. If he can't go the Patriots pass offense will be severely hampered against Miami and Tom Brady might be benchable in fantasy leagues.

NE - WR Josh Gordon questionable again

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon doesn't seem that much closer to playing than he was last week. Even if he is active this week, it could be a limited amount of snaps with some possible kinks to work out between Gordon and Brady. He's just a bench stash for Week 4.

TEN - Full practice for QB Marcus Mariota

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota is still only a desperation play in a low voltage Titans passing game facing Philadelphia this week.

DET - WR Golden Tate added to injury report

Source: The Detroit News - Justin Rogers

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (hip) was added to the injury report for Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys due to a hip ailment and he is listed as questionable.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tate is a late add, which can be troubling. We'll have to check back Sunday morning to make sure Tate is active. If he can't go, Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones will be must plays against Dallas.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert fully practices

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert is back to being a TE1 and his value is trending up. The Falcons are missing both starting safeties and their starting middle linebacker.

LAC - WR Keenan Allen back at practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (knee) returned to practice Friday, Sept. 28, after missing the previous two days with a knee injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no reason to think Allen won't play his full complement of snaps and be at his typical level of effectiveness, but check back on Sunday morning before finalizing your lineup.

PHI - RB Corey Clement questionable for Week 4

Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (quadriceps) was listed as questionable Friday, Sept. 28, for the Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jay Ajayi is healthier and should be played over Clement this week.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman to sit out Week 4

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) has been ruled out for Week 4 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tevin Coleman gets the start this week and should bounce back against the Bengals defense that just allowed a career-high rushing game to Christian McCaffrey.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy gets questionable designation

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is listed as questionable for Week 4 after putting in a third straight limited practice Friday, Sept. 28. When asked Friday if McCoy will play, head coach Sean McDermott said, 'we'll see.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy is only a flex play at Green Bay if he does play. Buffalo's offense came to life last week, but were often set up by short fields created by turnovers.

IND - TE Jack Doyle to miss second straight game

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Zak Keefer

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Houston Texans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eric Ebron should get extra targets this week, but last week he wasn't able to do much with against Philadelphia. He's a low TE1 against Houston.

BAL - TE Hayden Hurst getting close to return

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens TE Hayden Hurst (foot) has practiced well this week according to head coach John Harbaugh, although Harbaugh said 'it's a medical decision' in regards to whether or not Hurst will make his NFL debut in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens already have three viable receiving tight ends, so they don't have to rush Hurst back. It's time to pre-emptively add him in deep TE premium and 2 TE leagues.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard practices in full

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (thigh) was a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 28, after being limited the previous two days.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bernard is good to go against a Falcons defense that hasn't been able to stay with running backs as receivers the last two weeks. He's an RB1 in PPR leagues and still a strong play in nonPPR.

GB - WR Randall Cobb iffy for Week 4

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) injured his hamstring in practice Thursday, Sept. 27, and isn't a lock to play in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rookies Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling played in the slot some, and Ty Montgomery has an overlap in skills with Cobb. The Packers might not miss Cobb if he doesn't play as he was the source of numerous mistakes last week. Cobb has tended to be a player who has diminished impact when he's hurt, so it's a good idea to put him on the bench this week.

Baldwin returning will be huge for Seattle. I've said this before, if bengals use Eifert as a receiver instead of blocking 300+ lb linemen, that will preserve his back and continue to make him more valuable.

Won't be that huge today, but in a few weeks yes.

    Sunday Update

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin not at 100 percent

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) is expected to play in the Week 4 game against the Arizona Cardinals, although beat writer Tom Condotta believes the receiver is not 100 percent.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's not at full strength, so expect Seattle to ease him back into action. Baldwin has deep flex appeal now that he's returning to the playing field for the first time since Week 1.

SEA - RB Chris Carson should play

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (hip) is expected to play in Week 4 despite being limited in practice all week, according to The Seattle Time's Bob Condotta.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carson should lead the way on the ground for the Seahawks. He's currently atop the depth chart ahead of 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny. Carson is a low-end RB2 for Fantasy GMs against the Cardinals in Week 4.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin stays even keeled

    Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin admitted he hasn't been performing how he thought he would, nor has the Bills offense as a whole. 'I'm just working, man. Just getting better. Feeling good. We gonna keep grinding and keep building this relationship with Josh [Allen}.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bills offense showed some life last week in a shocking road victory over the Vikings. Most of that was rookie QB Josh Allen, but Benjamin caught a season-high three passes (yes, we realize that's not much). Perhaps things are trending in the right direction for this passing game. Even if things are getting on track for Allen and Benjamin, we can't trust the veteran WR as anything more than a WR6 or 'what the heck' flex in Week 4 against the Packers.

CLE - RB Carlos Hyde off to fantastic start

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns RB Carlos Hyde has four rushing touchdowns through the first three games, most by a Browns player through the first three games since Leroy Kelly in 1971.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Against the Raiders in Week 4, Hyde should continue to post RB2 worthy numbers for Fantasy GMs. We're excited to see how this entire Browns offense responds to the change at quarterback.

CLE - WR Jarvis Landry in tremendous company

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry is just six receptions short for the most catches in the first five years of an NFL career heading into Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Landry can get even hotter with rookie QB Baker Mayfield leading the way now. Against the Raiders on Sunday, we see Landry as a top-10 WR in PPR leagues.

NE - WR Corey Coleman cut by Pats

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

The New England Patriots released WR Corey Coleman from their practice squad Saturday, Sept. 29, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That didn't last long...just like most every stop Coleman has had this year. The Browns traded him to the Bills, then they promptly cut him. The Patriots took a flier on his physical talent but they must not have liked something. A 2016 first-round pick, Coleman may find a new team...but we're not expecting much...even in super deep dynasty.

SEA - RB C.J. Prosise might be able to play

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (abdomen) does not have a significant injury and he might be available for the Week 4 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prosise has ability as a satellite back (think James White)...if he could only stay healthy. That's been a problem, so we're taking a wait-and-see approach in dynasty formats.

SEA - Good matchup for TE Will Dissly, TE Nick Vannett?

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

Seattle Seahawks TEs Will Dissly and Nick Vannett are on pace for a combined 80 receptions, 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns, and they could add to their season totals against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, a team which plays a lot of nickel defense.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep this in mind if you're streaming tight ends or trying to find cheap tournament plays in DFS formats.

GB - WR Randall Cobb unable to practice

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was unable to take part in practice Saturday, Sept. 29, and he remains questionable for the Week 4 game against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even if he plays on Sunday, we can't trust Cobb as anything more than a WR5 or deep flex play. If he's not practicing on Saturday, then chances of playing on Sunday are slim. Find better options (that are clearly out there) and get Geronimo Allison ready to do more if Cobb can't go.

DEN - QB Case Keenum ready for Week 4

    Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) practiced in full for a third straight day on Saturday, Sept. 29 and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 4 game with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, Oct. 1.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keenum was practicing with a knee brace this week. He wore one in the Week 3 loss to the Ravens and might just be getting used to it. Reports indicate Keenum was moving around well during the media portion of practice. Against the Chiefs 'defense' on Monday night, Keenum makes for an interesting streaming option for Fantasy GMs.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins expected to play

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle, hamstring, thumb) is expected to play in the Week 4 game even though he is listed as questionable, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans have been wise in limiting their superstar receiver during the week of practice. Against the Colts on Sunday, we've got Hopkins at his usual WR1 projections even though he's been battling a few different minor injuries.

NFL - WR Dez Bryant expects to sign soon

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) said he expects to sign with a team in the near future.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Does he mean with an NFL team in real life or on Madden? The interest just doesn't seem to be there with Bryant. Reports have surfaced about teams questioning how much he wants to play football at this point of his career. Bryant is positive about his situation but we'll take a more skeptical view...it still may be some time before Bryant finds a new home. Stay tuned.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers listed as questionable

    Source: NFL.com

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is expected to play in Week 4's game against the Buffalo Bills despite being listed as questionable on the injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers just isn't going to be near full strength as this knee problem should be around all season long. While he continues to play on this injured knee, Rodgers chances of being 100 percent healthy are slim. That being said, Fantasy GMs should lock him in as a QB1 at home against the Bills on Sunday.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook limited by hamstring injury

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Ben Goessling

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) was on a snap count in Week 4, with the team looking to get him '15-20 plays' in an effort to keep him from re-injuring his hamstring, according to comments from head coach Mike Zimmer.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It was their plan all along, and the Vikings followed it to the letter. The gamescript didn't help either as the Vikings went into 'pass happy' mode early in the game against the Rams. Watch Cook's practice status next week, but so long as he doesn't have a setback we should see him get more snaps/touches going forward.

LAC - WR Travis Benjamin to be game-time decision

Source: Los Angeles Times - Jeff Miller

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (foot) will be a game-time decision for Sunday, Sept. 30, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs in super deep leagues might be holding onto Benjamin. Most of us should just keep the speedy veteran on waiver wire speed dial. Benjamin hasn't played since Week 1 due to a foot injury.

DET - RB Ameer Abdullah staying ready

Source: The Detroit News - Justin Rogers

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah said he is not in the position he wants to be in the offense, but he is staying ready in case his 'number is called' and isn't changing his work ethic.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's good news for Abdullah. He's been a disappointment to this point in his career and we don't think things would be much different if he all of a sudden got a larger role. Rookie Kerryon Johnson has emerged in the Lions backfield after recording the team's first 100-yard game in five years last Sunday.

HOU - WR Will Fuller on a TD streak

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller has nine touchdowns in the six games has has played with QB Deshaun Watson, catching at least one touchdown in all six games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller just needs to stay healthy and we'll start him every week as a WR2 with WR1 upside anytime he's out there. This week against the Colts, don't be surprised if the Fuller/Watson touchdown streak continues.

NYG - Busy week on tap for WR Sterling Shepard?

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard should be the 'biggest beneficiary' of TE Evan Engram's (knee) absence against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs and DFS players are on the Shepard bandwagon this weekend. We've got him as a low-end WR2 or upside WR3/flex for this game against the Saints on Sunday.

NYG - TE Rhett Ellison capable of producing

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants TE Rhett Ellison's three receptions in Week 3 all came after TE Evan Engram (knee) left the game, and Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com expects Ellison to 'provide steady production' as the starter against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ellison looked good last week but we can't trust him as anything more than a low-end TE2 for Fantasy GMs in Week 4. A fourth-round pick (USC) for the Vikings in the 2012 NFL draft, Ellison has always been more known as a blocker and not much of a receiving threat.

Some things never change with Miami and New England, Tannehill and Brady.

    Monday Update

CHI - Six touchdowns for QB Mitchell Trubisky

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky went 19-for-26 for 354 yards and six touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. He also rushed for 53 yards on three carries during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matt Nagy and the talents of the Bears pass offense made this one easy for Trubisky. He was good from long and short range and will be worth a streamer look in Week 6 at Miami.

TB - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick benched

    Source: NFL.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 9-for-18 for 126 yards and one touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 4 before he was benched for QB Jameis Winston.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzmagic the 2018 version is over, but we and the record books will always remember his first three starts this year. He'll go back to being a back up, but this might not be the last chapter of a career that refuses to go quietly.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery posts 105 yards, TD

    Source: 1 No Source

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery racked up eight catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery came back with a bang and made the kind of plays we've come to expect from him. He'll be an every week start going forward even against Xavier Rhodes and the Vikings next week.

PHI - QB Carson Wentz goes over 300 yards

    Source: 1 No Source

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 33-of-50 passes for 348 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wentz's ceiling was up with Alshon Jeffery back in the lineup. Next week, he'll face a Vikings defense that was just torched by the Vikings.

SF - RB Matt Breida leaves with shoulder injury

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (shoulder) left the Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not clear yet whether this is the same shoulder Breida hurt in the preseason, but it's not a great sign for his availbility against the Cardinals next week. Don't drop Alfred Morris yet.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert expected to undergo surgery

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) suffered a broken ankle in the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons and he is expected to undergo surgery, a source said Sunday, Sept. 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert was back to looking like his old self in the last two weeks and made a terrific catch on his touchdown. The tight end ranks are thinned further as CJ Uzomah and Tyler Kroft will replace Eifert, but neither is a viable play going forward.

DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott posts 240 total yards

    Source: NFL.com

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 152 yards on 25 carries against the Detroit Lions in Week 4. He also caught four passes for 88 yards and one touchdown during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Elliott had a dominant game as the Cowboys offense came to life and it could have been even bigger. He caught a deep ball like a wide receiver to set up the game-winning field goal and looks like a a top three back going forward.

DET - RB Kerryon Johnson reaches end zone

    Source: NFL.com

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown on nine carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson ran over a Cowboys defender on the way to the end zone, so he might be the #1 goal line back over LeGarrette Blount going forward, but the Lions didn't commit to the run in a back and forth game, so Johnson is still more flex against the Packers next than a strong RB2.

CHI - WR Allen Robinson catches TD pass

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson caught two passes for 23 yards and one touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson was very quiet despite the huge score, but the blossoming of this pass offense - albeit against a very weak pass defense - is a good sign for his weekly ceiling going forward.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard totals 96 yards, two TDs

    Source: 1 No Source

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard rushed 15 times for 69 yards with two touchdowns in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons and he added four grabs for 27 yards on his four targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bernard was very productive on his touches again in his second start in place of Joe Mixon (knee). Mixon could return next week, but Bernard has proven that he is an autostart when Mixon is out.

CHI - RB Jordan Howard held in check

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard rushed for 25 yards on 11 carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We were warned that Howard might not be a big part of every game plan. The Bears decided to attack the Bucs injury-riddled secondary, not their stiff run defense. He'll be a boom/bust RB2 going forward, but at least the offense is waking up going into their bye.

CHI - WR Taylor Gabriel catches two touchdowns

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel caught seven passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabriel was a giant in fantasy leagues, scoring on red zone plays designed to get the ball in his hands and getting free in the multi-faceted pass offense. He had a decent PPR floor because of his numerous short targets going into the bye, and he'll be carried in most fantasy leagues coming out of his bye against the Dolphins in Week 6.

GB - TE Jimmy Graham posts 21 yards, TD

    Source: 1 No Source

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham posted three catches for 21 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham finally scored, but it's clear his ceiling is low, even without Randall Cobb in the lineup. He does have a good matchup against Detroit next week, but is only a middling TE1.

TB - TE Cameron Brate finds end zone

    Source: NFL.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate caught three passes for 29 yards and one touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brate is Jameis Winston's favorite in the red zone and it proved true again today. OJ Howard's value is questionable now, but Brate will be worth a streamer look against the Falcons after his by next week.

GB - WR Davante Adams targeted 14 times

    Source: 1 No Source

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams hauled in eight receptions for 81 yards on a game-high 14 targets in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams had a tough matchup against TreDavious White, but Aaron Rodgers still targeted him often and he was a solid PPR play. He may tangle with Darius Slay a lot next week in a bad sign for his Week 5 outlook.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy goes nowhere fast

    Source: 1 No Source

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed five times for 24 yards in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers and he had three catches for 13 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy is just injury/emergency depth at this point.

BUF - QB Josh Allen crashes back to Earth

    Source: 1 No Source

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed 16-of-33 passes for 151 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in a shutout loss at Green Bay in Week 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen looked like his worst case scenario in the NFL, making ill-advised throws and not sensing pressure on multiple plays. He's a quarterback to target with your streaming defense against the Titans next week.
