The
Astros have acquired left-hander
Scott Kazmir from the A's in exchange for right-hander Daniel Mengden and catcher Jacob Nottingham.
It's the first significant trade of the season, and of course it comes from A's GM Billy Beane. FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal first reported the trade, which was later confirmed by the A's via Twitter.
Kazmir, 31, revived his career over two years in Oakland, posting a 20-14 record across 300 innings and 50 starts with a 3.12 ERA, 265 strikeouts and a 1.13 WHIP.
