    Salary cap football draft strategy

Feel free to share your own opinions and advice.

    1. always take one of the cheapest kickers. Most of the top kickers each week
are usually going to get alot of extra points. Taking a top kicker does nothing but waste
your cap money causing you to not have the best wr, rb and qb you need to win.
Grab one of the cheapest kickers on the board playing at home or in a dome.

    2. Never take an expensive defense. If your relying on your defense to win you a cap
contest then your team must really be hurting. Most cap leagues score special teams
touchdowns as a defensive touchdown. So each week try to pickup a defense with a
good matchup, cheap but not the cheapest that has a good kick or punt returner.

    4. Taking A Rodgers in week 1 is a mistake. He simply cost too much and they are playing
the 49ers. Yes he could have a good game, but his value in week 1 is just not there.

    5. Always take one of the top running backs. Each week take either foster, mccoy or rice and play
the guy with the best matchup because these runningbacks are simply elite and will score
    you the most point.s

    6. Take a cheap running back. After taking a top rb, take one of the cheaper running backs.
Each week there will always be some starting rb injured or banged up and there will be
great value taking a cheap running back, esecially if it allows you to get a great rb and elite
wr's. Examples for week 1 could be Rashad Jennings if MJD doesn't play or ronnie brown
    if Mathews does not play.

    7. Always take a top 5 wr. If you take a cheap k, d and one cheap rb, you should be able to afford
a top wr. Calvin in week 1 is almost a no brainer. Expensive but playing against st louis , the value
    is simply there.

    8. For your 2nd and 3rd wr's just look and see how much cap space you have. If a team is playing
a bad defense or you think a game could be a shootout, there is nothing wrong with taking a 2nd wr
instead of a guaranteed #1 starter.
Wr is very deep this year, perhaps the deepest its ever been in the NFL. Bey, titus young, torrey
smith, reggie wayne, floyd and a few others could bring you #1 production each week.

9 Don't waste your time taking gronk or graham each week. yes they are elite but if you take a top
tight end you will not be able to afford a top rb or wr. TE is also very deep and there is great value with some of the mid tier tight ends. B celek, o daniels, g olsen and a few others could be great additions
each week depending on the right matchups.

    10. Finally to quarterbacks. If you played last year and took a top qb, you probaly found yourself
searching around for cheap wr and rbs and found yourself editing your team over and over
to get under the cap. If you need 1 qb take a qb around the 5th to 10th best value. If you need 2
don't be afraid to take one of the cheapest starting qbs especially if they're playing a bad defense
or is coming off a bad week and has value for that week. I believe a qb like jay cutler has excellent value
for week 1 as an example against the colts .

I'll list my salary cap plays as soon as some of the contests i enter come up.
