only temporarily Ohio State is Number 1, they don't have any easy road ahead either to stay that way.

They'll be #1, but we can agree to disagree over the rightfully part. I grew up a Big Ten fan as well, but we STRONGLY disagree about the quality of the conference. Ohio State will no doubt win out simply due to the lack of quality opponents in conference (combined with playing teams like Youngstown and Kent State), but unless they play a team like South Florida (which they might well lose to also) in the championship they will suffer a similar fate as last year.

That's the beauty or travesty (depending on how you look at it) of the current system as it stands. How good you really are doesn't matter whatsoever. So long as you're undefeated and in a BCS conference (regardless of true talent and opponents played) you'll get to the big show....

Really? Pray tell who the tough teams are they have left to play (I don't see a top 25 in there after this week)....

As a matter of fact, I don't see a team that'll be in the top 25 on Monday that OSU has played all season. I guess I tend to look at things more objectively (betting large amounts on games tends to have a way of doing that). OSU, along with majority of the conference, should be fade city come bowl time....

Just seems like no one wants to be in that #1 spot. California blew their chance as well to become #1.

how can you say those teams aren't quality teams, if they run the board on those, they deserve a shot at the title. just because those teams might not be ranked, doesn't mean they are weak. conference opponents are always tough, even if they're having a bad year.

Except for Purdue, which is sinking fast, the teams the Bucks faced are not ready for prime time.

Thier last five games has real teams - OSU will be lucky to win three of them.

I don't know if I'd blindly be so sure Razz. I see a way overinflated line due to the sportsbooks thinking that everyone will have the same mentality that "LSU will be soooo pissed off." I've seen more teams play worse after a loss than better year in and year out. What's even funnier to me is everyone saying that a certain team that was previously ranked high will kill their next opponent because "they are so pissed off" after a loss in the opening two weeks of the season, when it turns out that team just isn't very good lol .

Auburn just has one of those teams that I think is difficult to whip up on due to their ball control offense and pretty solid "D." However, Les Miles has always tended to run up the score when given the chance, so if anyone's going to pummel Auburn this year it would certainly be LSU. GL as always...

If just beating conference opponents regardless of conference strength because "they're always tough" is the criterion, than why shouldn't Hawaii be #1 if they win out? Perhaps I'm a little tough on some teams due to having played and coached the game, but I just simply don't believe that certain teams should be handed a national championship birth. Football is not a bullshit game. It's a hard-nosed, fast paced, mean spirited son of a bitch. Generally the tougher and faster team wins.

It's all well and good that Ohio State might win out playing a bunch of soft, slow, cornfed, overly white teams (and I'm not referring to race so much as demographics of certain races not being as prevalent), but what do you really think would happen if Ohio State played say LSU or even Florida again this year? The exact same damn thing that happened to both Michigan and Ohio State last year. As for Michigan State, Penn State, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan stacking up as "quality competition" compared to other conferences, you'll have the opportunity to bet as you please on these teams once again come bowl time.

    GL....

The difference is that if LSU wins out, it's still playing for the national title. Auburn also beat them last year. Other than two years ago, every time we go down there, LSU beats the hell out of us. They will again this Saturday.

What part of Alabama are you from Razz? I've done a fair amount of work throughout the state.

Your simple view and snap judgment definitely represents that of the masses. I don't see why what happened four years ago and before when these two teams played one another has anything to do with Saturday's game, as these kids would have been 17 or younger at that point. I don't know if you played or coached football, but generally when someone beats you it's more of a negative for the next year than a positive in terms of a mental state. Every condition you're laying out now also applied to the Auburn-Florida game. Hope you didn't lay those points there and get hammered like you did on all your Utah vs. San Antonio NBA plays you were so confident of.

All that aside and just handicapping the game, I just think Auburn's front four will hold their own and force Flynn to beat them. In addition, I think Auburn's balanced offense will chew up clock and create some long drives. I think it's a horrible spot to lay double digits, but will be the first to come on here and congratulate you if you win and get some of your money back. GL...

    Bollocks,

I love you, but I think Ohio State will lose either one or both of these games:

    AT Penn State
    AT Michigan

And yes, the ATS are emphasized for a reason!

    Good Luck to You.
