looking ahead to kentuck thursday night

i think kentucky can win this game outright, but im jumping on kentucky +3.5.i really think kentucky should be favored by 3.this line seems a little weird to me.

    kentucky +3.5

I'm actually on SC for this one. SC has the best pass defense in the country. Kentucky also has LSU and Florida coming up, so they might be looking ahead just a bit. Should be a good game.

There is a reason they are #1 against the pass.

    They dont stop the run.

Wifey wanted to make SC a pick in the contest on here because of something she saw on espn about the game .
I advised her to leave that one alone . Plus I didnt see it on the BTP contest .
Whatever that is worth , probably not much .

Pokernut , I chased the over on Louisville with that high total after it went under for you , chasing your over from the other week ....

What does that mean ? now Louisville game will go over <<<<

I feel like Kentucky has a balanced offense, and will be able to throw off South Carolina's defense. Kentucky's run game does not get enough respect. South Carolina's 131st ranked run D is gonna get hammered by the 18th rushing offense. SC gave up 3.3rpy to a mediocre Miss St. team, and 5.8 to a decent LSU rush. Rafael Little is averaging 6.7 ypr with 547 ty this year. South Carolina got lucky last week at home. I don't see it happening again.

Ive been advised to bring my rain jacket to tonights game. I think the rain favors USC. Its the best D that Kentucky has seen all year, Williams Brice will be nuts tonight, and you've got Spurrier who always has his team prepared for big games. I think luck had very little to do with the 38-21 win last week. Smelley has one full game under his belt and should have a good game. When USC has the ball, they will control the clock and keep Woodson off the field.
I like the gamecocks win 34-27.

Look deeper on why they are number 1 pass defense.

They cant stop the run that is why. Stats like that are misleading.

    ULL had 252 rushing
    SC St. 196 rushing
    Lsu 290 rushing

    Kentucky is well balanced

    1343 passing
    1118 rushing

They have won 10 of their last 11

3 routs vs lesser competition and 2 big marquue wins on national TV.

    Kentucky wins this easily.

Significant chance of rain\thunderstorms tonight. Who does that favor? Weather can really screw things up simliar to how injuries screwed last nights game up. I would guess this helps SC as this would force Kentucky to run more. I know SC defense has been bad against the run, but you got to believe Kentucky would still want to throw in this game. Combination of weather and SC's great pass defense, may limit that.

Thats a good point. For some reason I just can't take Kentucky. Their not supposed to be good at football.

And since when is South Carolina supposed to be good ?

They are a 4th or 5th place team year in year out.

Oh I forgot , they have Spurrier and he is good for 5 losses each year.

I have always been hesitent going for or against the old ball coach i feel lucky to get out of last week with a win from him and he is usaully money on Throwdown thursday but it seems the Gamecocks defense has lost a step since LB Blakley went out. Im staying away from this one.

They were 0-4 at home last year versus SEC foes.

Does anyone research games or just grasp at hype.

All you hear is how they win at home all the time and # 1 pass defense , yet no one realizes Kentucky runs as well as they pass.

And bad weather favors SC ? Seems it would favor team that can throw and run ?

good point on a balanced team related to weather. Any handicapping skills I have seem to go out the window when bad weather is involved. Just too unpredictable. SC fans on there board are actually saying weather may not be a big factor anyway. Kentucky +10 and Over 51.5 with 6 point tease.

I think Kentucky is a better team on the offensive side of the ball, and will probably win this game out right. S. Carolina can't stop the run, and the Cats have a QB who can throw downfield AND run. Upset special. And if I were going to play the points I would take the under. By the way, will Ashley Judd be there tonight? That's the real question. Now it's time for Danzig to take a nap. My belly is full of bratwurst.
