Head Coaches On The Hot Seat

Here is the current lists of Head Coaches who are squirming on the hot seat:

Les Miles. LSU is 2-2 and still has games at Florida, Arkansas, and Texas A&M, plus a visit by Alabama. At this point, 8-4 is where they will probably end up and that is not good enough for the LSU alum.

Clay Helton. USC is now 1-3 for the season and will have to scramble just to get into a bowl game. ANY bowl game. Since being named permanent HC, Helton is 1-5, including the inexcusable loss at Utah last Friday night. Rumor Control says that Swan already has feelers out.

Mark Helfrich. Oregon is 2-2 for the second straight year. With games against Stanford, Washington, Arizona State and Utah, Oregon is in hot water. The natives were very restless going in, and another 4 loss season like last year may spell doom for him.

Gus Malzahn. Auburn needed a miracle to defeat LSU last night, and still must visit Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama plus host Arkansas. Auburn's office has scored a total of 47 points against their 3 FBS opponents, going 1-2 in those games. That is not the way to try and challenge Alabama for bragging rights.

Chuck Martin. The Miami (Ohio) HC can ill afford to have a poor season in the MAC, but an 0-4 start, with 10 returning starters on offense and the top recruiting class in the MAC spells possible trouble for the 3rd year HC.

James Franklin. Two 7 win seasons in a row will not cut it at Penn State. This year's 2-2 start also will not cut it. With home games against Ohio State, Iowa, and Michigan State, the home folks will have plenty to judge Franklin.

Look at all the people posting in fraud's thread.

    I pity PigDaddy.

Yeah, took a fuking genius to know Les Miles was on the hot seat.

Put your fuking losing bets on your spreadsheet fraud.

I give BigDaddy shit too, but I like the thread, and will respond....

    Miles - Yep, gone

Helton - In over his head. They thought they'd go the Pete Carroll "what do we have to lose with this guy" approach, and it's not working. Recruits aren't as high either. Must abort.

Malzahn - I think his offensive system as just gotten figured out, plain and simple. He had the talent the last few years. Probably best to focus on being an OC again, but now that he's tasted elite-level head coaching, I doubt he's going to want to go back. He'll be buyer's remorse for another team soon.

Helfrich - Good coach. Biggest problem -- all of Chip Kelley's recruits are gone. Helfrich is very good at most things, but Kelley was an elite recruiter for that system, and Helfrich is just okay. Even a small drop-off there is noticeable. Mariota, Thomas, Barner, Unger, Jordan, Buckner, Armstead, aren't walking through that door anymore. Vernon Adams was an amazing QB I thought, and saved that team a number of times last year. But they're all gone now. Big problem, and it's finally manifesting itself.

Martin - Don't know enough about him. Tough place to recruit. Everyone who plays there has MiamiOH as they're 4th school at best.

Franklin - Eh, I don't think you can expect a lot from Penn State anymore. Might as well let a guy get his players and his system in place and see what happens. Can't go for instant gratification here, you'll never get what you want. The program itself has a fraction of the attractiveness it once had, and that won't be changing anytime soon.
