Coach Beamer is a Conservative Clown. Good Riddance!

This guy always finds a way to keep his opponents in the game, even when they should be left for dead. You have a 24 point lead on Tulsa in the second quarter and you're left nursing a 3 point lead in the fourth. Unreal, this guy. He starts taking the air out of the ball with four minutes to go in the third. The game has long passed him by.

A lot of these old school guys will do that. Richt will do it. Play not to lose. Teams can move the ball now much faster than they could in 2003.

Call me spiteful, but I was rooting for that turkey to lose outright when it became apparent that the cover wasn't going to happen.

I'll give him some credit for the turnaround.

But Michael Vick put this program on the map and Beamer's been riding the gravy train ever since.

You're clueless. The program was on the map long before Michael Vick.

Vick took 'em to the next level, regardless of how you choose to define "on the map."

It was a level that Beamer could never really recapture after Vick's departure... I liken it to Vince Young at Texas. Young made Mack Brown look better than he really was. Hell, VY almost single handedly won Mack his sole title, and Mack unraveled in his absence.

I stand by my opinion that Beamer is an average coach. That's exactly what he is... average. I've seen enough Virginia Tech games over the years to make this assertion. It's not like I'm basing this on one game. The guy flat out lacks a killer instinct.
