    Bodog spreads

Whats up with Bodog not moving their lines? For example:

    Ore St. +10 (-125)
    Oregon -10 (+105)

Ive noticed this quite a bit when there are 3 point spreads (ie Colts/Saints MNF). In this case most books are at 9.5 and obviously the line is headed that way at Bodog also. At what point do they move it down? If you like betting dogs you can usually get a better line at Bodog. In this case it is expensive though...

BoDog hs historiclly padded their lines in favor of the dogs. In most cases, you can get an extra 1/2 point if you take the dogs.

I can't answer that. First, I do not use BoDog. Secondly, I only play hoops when the shave is in, which is rarely, but does happen.

Bodog waits to set there lines to take a lot of the volatility out of play. Once they put the lines up they are very reluctant to move them so they increase the juice much more than other books. Very rarely can you bet openers with them, so if you like betting dogs as Bigdaddy says then you will usually get a better spread but have to pay more juice.

College football games land on the 10 3.78% of the time. They don't want to get middled, so they just adjust the juice.

BDQH was right re: taking the dogs. They're a good out because from time to time you can pick up a 1/2 point or so on the dog. But they have big payout problems and will kick you out if you win or beat the closing number too much for their liking.

They are pretty limited in betting options and they put their lines up way after other books. The only thing I like is that i can use my credit card. I have accounts at other books but making deposits seems to be a pain in the ass. I haven't heard of them having payout problems. Is this true?

I have an account at bodog and just got a 5Dimes account...5Dimes definitely seems better although bodogs website is so damn easy to use. The ability to add your potential plays to a board THEN choose how much or what you want to do with them (i.e. parlay, tease, round robin, straight) makes it a much better design. I wish 5Dimes had this. In terms of lines though they definitely are annoying to use as the lines are up VERY late for a lot of games (basketball mostly), and the juice can be pretty ridiculous. As SKM said, depositing with credit card is super easy, as opposed to today with 5dimes where it took me about 4 hours to deposit as they seemed to have just forgotten about the whole verification process. After me speaking to 4 different people and each saying to call back in 30 minutes FINALLY I got my money deposited. Either way they both have their pros and cons, but it really depends what you want in terms of simplicity or what you like to bet on. Since I don't bet that large (max i'll bet on a game is 50 bucks) its not as much of a strategy for me to choose the ABSOLUTE best, but I've been happy with both.

ive always liked keeping a bodog account just to take dogs as you guys have said they tend to keep a inflated line also sometimes i can get my team at the same number but with + money at bodog. they do have limited options no doubt and i heard years ago ppl had problems with there payouts but ive never had any problems getting paid from them usually check at my house within 2 days after request

Depends on how much you are cashing out. I haven't heard of them robbing smaller players (in fact, I know a few people who have secured ~$500 cashouts), but have heard stories of guys getting stiffed for 5k+.

Depends on how much $ you're dealing with. If you're depositing a good deal of money, probably wire. For smaller deposits, ** works well. Contact their live chat or call them, tell them you'd like to make a ** deposit, they'll give you a name and location, go to someplace that does ** transactions (if you have a brand name supermarket or pharmacy, they'll likely have it), tell them you're doing a person-to-person ** transaction, fill out the form, give the teller at the store the cash, they'll give you a receipt with a reference number. Call (or use live help) the sportsbook and give them the reference number. The money should be in there within a few hours.

As far as cashout/stiffing rumors, those are just downright false. I play poker on Bodog all the time. In fact, payouts are typically recieved within 3-7 business days of the customer's request. I've bought into over $200,000 in tournaments at bodog. I usually place 1-2 payout requests from them each month and have never had issue with them. One of my buddies won the BPO Open 2 years back for about $75k. He had no issue with his payout request. I have several friends who popped the 100k on Sundays for a $25k payout. They have also not had issues with payout requests.

Usually the max payout per request is $3000 with some exceptions. If, for instance, a large amount is being withdrawn by the customer, they sometimes can accomodate. But $3000 per check is usually sufficient for most people.
