    How come I'm not hearing anything about Rice vs Texas A&M?

    I thought Rice was very respectable last year. They return a good bit of players on both sides of the ball. Texas A&M has had the huge Manziel distraction. This could make them get closer as a team and blow Rice out the stadium but they lose a lot on offense and defense. They recruited well but a lot of new guys in the lineup.

    I have to think A&M's offense is very systematic (Sumlin) so they will still put up Playstation type numbers but Rice can put up points too. If this game is close at half, Johnny Football is going to have the weight of the world on his shoulders.

    I think it's worth a flyer to take Rice +29 and throw a bit on the ML. Perfect storm, A&M can lose this game.


    I'm off to bed but curious what others think.

    Is the TXAM 1st half offered yet? TXAM is 23-1 in the past two years in 1st halves, only loss vs Oklahoma.

    I have zero faith in A&M's offense without Manziel + first game rust and distraction galore, I would look towards a first half play if any.

    None of my books have a 1st quarter or 1st half line up yet. TAM was money in the first half like you mentioned but gave up leads in the 2nd half of a bunch of games, especially 2 years ago. With Manziel coming in at half, I'm not sure fading them 2nd half is a smart thing.

    I think the offense will still do well without Manziel. Sumlin knows offense. His teams can put up points with any QB.

    Would never fade TXAM second half. Either a first half bet (with any QB, because Tannehill got the job done too) or nothing.

    What do you mean? I use to always fade TAM in the 2nd half. They have been horrible covering 2nd half lines the last 2 years by my recollection.

    They were like Louisville. Get out to quick leads then hang on for dear life.

    Not that it isn't specifically a good bet to fade 2nd half but I just wouldnt do it especially in this one when johnny comes in.

    2011 TXam was clockwork though, win 1st half, lose 2nd half. Not so much 2012 AM with Manziel

    A&m will pound the rock the first half they have top 5 o line again this year and 4 very capable rb that could play anywhere ....we all know that manziel will be 2nd half only but with an FCS school next week and bama the week after I see the first team guys getting the majority of the reps with johnny in the 2nd half...easiest play will be A&m 2nd line

    I think this is shaping up to suit a play on the Aggies 2H, if TAMU fails to do much on offense for the rest of the half with Joekel under center. Manziel is going to be gunning to put up big numbers in the second half.

    This looks to be a shootout. Rice's offense looks nice. That offensive line is blowing TAM defenders way off the ball. Rice is getting whatever they want on offense. If they don't make any mistakes they are going to put up some points.
