After thirty plus years of service to the University of Nebraska, Tom Osborne has officially retired. Osborne joined the Huskers as an offensive assistant in 1964, was promoted to offensive coordinator in 1969, was named head coach in 1973 and remained at that post until 1997. After six years away as a congressman, he became Nebraska's athletic director in 2007. In 25 years as head coach, Osborne posted a 255-49-3 record and either won or shared 13 conference championships. He won national championships in 1994. 1995 and 1997. His teams never won less than 9 games and won 10 or more 15 times.
