    Sportsbook.ag Holding Me Hostage

Beware folk! During business with some sportsbook is like a pack with Devil, or joining of mob whose members can only get out if they're dead. I joined Sportsbooks.ag a few years ago, decided recently I don't like the way they're doing business, and requested that my account be PERMANENTLY closed. Simple, right? Well, they've scooped as low as calling me a gambling addict, just because I no longer want to do business with them now or ever in the future. Here's my correspondence with them, you be the judge:

For the fourth time, I need a confirmation that my account is permanently closed. Or should I have my lawyer make the request? You have 24 hours.

We've sent you an email yesterday letting you know that the account is closed, as explained on our previous message due to the reason you've stated for the closure, we won’t close it permanently. We have closed the account for now and can open it back later, we leave it at your discretion whether it is reopened or not.
However, I am a little concerned about the statements you've made in your last emails. Our Social Responsibility is something we take very seriously. If you feel that gambling does no longer constitute an entertainment for you and it is instead creating financial, family, personal or other problems, then you may have a gambling problem. I truly need you to be honest with me in regards to this. You are requesting me to close your account for good, and are also threatening to take legal action if this is not done; stating you have a gambling problem will have your account closed and never re-opened. Let me know your thoughts about this matter.

How about some class and professionalism? So do you accuse everyone who wants a permanent account closure of having a gambling addiction? Would be interesting to here what gamblers in general think of this. Listen,There's no legal basis to not permanently close my account. It's up to me to permanently close it, and i'm telling you to permanently close it. If you have a legal basis, please state it and we can go from there. Otherwise, for the fifth time, permanently close my account. I'm being held hostage, figuratively speaking.

Please close my account PERMANENTLY. My reason is I have no intention of during business with you now or ever in the future. It's that simple. I need my account permanently closed, and a confirmation that it is closed permanently.

    Thank you for contacting us.
As clarified on our previous communications, unfortunately, the reason you're giving us does not entail closing your account permanently. Right now your account is closed and will only be reopened per your request, if you have no intention of doing business with us in the future, there is no reason why your account should be reopened. I'm sorry if this is not the answer you want, but our company's position will remain the same in regards to this matter.

I don't take kindly to your insinuation that I'm an addict. It's uncalled for and very unprofessional. And shouldn't be the only way for a person to be permanently done with your business. How can a person have their account permanently closed and not be insulted and called an addict? My concern is I don't want promotional stuff through email and mail from you in the future.

Mr. G, I've had the same 'local' for over 15 years. During that time, we have never had one problem that wasn't resolved in 10 minutes. I'm honest with them and they are honest with me. I trust them and they trust me. I pay on time and they pay on time. I couldn't ask for anything better. Might be worth a try in your area.

I'm sure there are some good off-shore books...but I have heard some horror stories with many.

I only bet with locals, so much easier and you know them and they know you which makes it easier to trust them and have pretty good professional relationships. BOL though sorry to hear that happened, extremely unprofessional.

My "locals" happen to operate out of Vegas, so basically I bet in Vegas. ANYONE who wagers on line is begging to get ripped off. There are 100 different ways in which this can be done, and the killer is that all of these off shore books are just that. OFF SHORE. You have absolutely no power to question them unless you shell out some big bucks for an attorney. The truth of the matter is that if you wager off shore, you do not have enough money to afford a high priced attorney, for the most part.

Those two are a lot better than what you had. As far as finding locals are concerned, basically that is done by word of mouth. Do you know anyone who uses a book?

I would highly recommend you contact Heritage Sportsbook. As far as I am concerned they are the very best in the business, and last year during college football we had a discussion about them, and several shared my sentiments. You can also do a search on him for them. It is an invite site, but if you call them and speak to them, possibly they will allow you to come aboard and enjoy there great organization.
    Good luck to you!
