    Schiano turns down Miami job

    Greg Schiano has decided to pass on the Miami job and remain with Rutgers.

    What do you guys think of this decision?

    Who needs the baggage that comes with coaching Miami, might as well wait on Jo Pa.

    Schiano will get a ton of good stories about sticking with Rutgers, but I'd be shocked if he stayed more than another season. Several more big jobs will open next year and he'll have his pick. Or he can wait two more years.

    Miami is such a mess right now, likely a good decision. Even if Rutgers takes a step back next year, he'll still have job offers. But anyone who thinks this guy is staying at Rutgers for more than a season or two is kidding themselves.

    agree with seattle slew here...Schiano has a ton of job security at Rutgers...Miami's facilities are a mess, the program's a mess and he could be fired in three years...he's smart to turn it down...

    Why would Schiano leave a program that he built from scratch, and is now starting to prosper like this. He would be a fool to do that, because the football talent level in NJ is pretty damn good. Maybe now he has a very good shot of keeping that talent in the state if he can continue his winning ways there.

    Lets also not forget the fact that Rutgers will most likely give him a new contract or a contract extention of some kind. So, you know he's gonna do just fine from a monitary stand point.

    I think he'd be a fool to take a job at a big conference (say Stanford) where he'll struggle early again. But is jobs like Penn State and Florida State open in the next year or so, they are much more attractive, and he'll be able to recruit better.
