if a system has done extremely well so far this season......?

but been nothing too impressive (not terrible) in the past, would you value its picks for the rest of the season?

the reason i ask is that well known power ratings on college football have been absolutely killing it this season. very high win rates and picking every single game.

complete aside, but the site that tracks them just tablulates ATS wins and losses. no differentiation between games which are great value and games which are very close to 50/50 for the system.

also, you could use the system as the base and then eliminate games you don't like (power ratings loved hawaii vs. BYU but that's definitely a game you would have thought very hard to overiding a quant system... or maybe it was the game after BYU, or both)

thanks in advance!! and i will re-iterate that i realize these power ratings have been 50% plus/minus 1.5% or so the last 5 seasons

Sounds like random variation to me.

    Too small a sample.
