BYU @ Georgia Tech Discussion Thread

Interested on your guys' thoughts on this game. I'm showing BYU as a 2.5 dog at even money.

Will BYU's stout rushing defense be able to stop GTech? It looks like Tevin Washington who is their qb and lead rusher is a bit banged up. I don't know if he'll be able to roam freely against the BYU defense as well as he has against the weaker defenses Gtech has faced. Gtech has lost to a disappointing Vtech team, Miami, and also MTSU (who have been good this year) and have walloped a few cupcakes. Running up the yardage on the inferior teams may have resulted in Gtech being overvalued here. Is Gtech the ground version of WVU waiting to be exposed again by a legit defense? Vtech already held the Yellowjackets to only 17 pts, and BYU's defense may do an even better job.

I would jump on BYU if it gets to +3 and maybe look to play Vtech's team total under (which is looking to be around 27 at this point).

Anyone with input on this game?

One stat which works against BYU is that they've been much better at home against the run than on the road. 62 yards allowed to 145. BYU backers would hope that this difference is mostly statistical variance and not causal.

Was on GT last week over BC and watched.

Check Laskey status. He's a key back in that bone option. Had 101 yards last week and I believe he left in the 3rd qtr. Shoulder injury. I'm still hearing questionable. That game was in the bank until he left the field. GT offense really slowed when he became a spectator. Sweated that out.

If I liked BYU, I'd play the ML +120

Think I'll stay away from this game. Just don't see an edge. Great rush attack facing a great run defense. Weak BYU offense facing a weak wrecking crew defense. That option is tough to defend for GT, but BYU pretty disciplined.

Tough to trust either here with cash. gl

Tough call. GT can burn a lot of clock running the ball. Will they be effective against that BYU D ? Can BYU put points on the board?

I'm passing on this game. Don't feel an edge and see better opportunities with other games. GT Running back Laskey status is unknown? Won't find him at the top in any stats , but he's been running the ball well past couple weeks. GT also had both off tackles leave the game. Haven't done much digging, but I'd check that out before playing.

Hard to find a compelling reason to bet this game. Coin toss side and total.

I think GT will run into a brick wall on this one...so take BYU. Defense mostly wins
