It is on Thursday night. It is in Blacksburg. And Va. Tech has been very good on Thursday night at home. That having been said...
I think Clemson covers 4.5 without much trouble.
The only way Clemson loses this game and fails to cover is:
1. Va. Tech blocks a couple of punts. Clemson has had kicking game issues this season and Va. Tech is know for their special teams prowess.
2. Va. Tech puts 9 in the box nullifying Davis and Spiller making Clemson throw the ball to beat them and Will Proctor throws a couple of pic-sixes.
Otherwise, Clemson is the better team by far and should cover easily...

Actually the last Thursday night game VA Tech played against BC they got beat down. I am still kicking this game around.

Clemson looks too easy, I was kind of surprised line this low baed on thrashing of GTech...SBR's matchup power rating has VT as -1 (?!) . I like the under better than the side.

I hit Clemson -3 (bought it down) for 4x as soon as I saw this line released.
All of what has been said here so far supporting Va.Tech. is true, and normally I'd take a team in their position. But I've been betting against them most of the year and will continue in this spot against a BCS contender.
This is one of those games where I've put the onus on my own shoulders, and i've got 4x down so it's not just an action play. If I lose, my handicapping ability is at fault, not some analysis of the public perception or reading of others' breakdown of the game. I've watched VT play 3 games and thought they looked overrated and undisciplined each time. So I'm essentially just 'going with the gut' here and don't care if it turns out to be a square play or on the losing side of a trap. I've made enough betting against Va.Tech. so far to counteract any loss here, and if I lose, I'll just learn from the mistake. So this is basically a bet against VT rather than one 'for' Clemson.

This game reminds me of the Bears at the Cardinals MNF. No one gave the Cards a shot and jumped all over the Bears and got fvcked BIg time! I dont know who I like, was checking the 1st half line at -3 Clemson, but it smells like a booby trap?

Looks like I'm the only one on the over right now. I got it at 43. Like it because weather is supposed to be fine, clemson has a dynamic offense while tech is questionable while Tech needs big plays to have any chance vs. clemson.

different opponent though. VT wanted to play a low scoring game on the road and BC has tougher defense at home. I actually see this game alot like the Wake-Clemson game. I think VT gets out ahead earlier and lets Clemson back. I think the score will get into the 50's. Originally Posted by HAPPY BOY

Clemson really should be good here but just off the news wire is that Clemson's star running back and ACC leading rusher James Davis is 50/50 for a start tonite. Bad shoulder. Keep an eye out...
Clemson is the better team BUT with VT getting points at home and Clemson coming off a big win, we could be in for a shocker. I will read some more before I decide on a play on this one..
