I'm sure Persa will put up some points but I don't think it will be enough to cover, I would stay away from this bet. It will probably be a close game at the half but I expect PSU to pull away in the 2nd half.

Not really. Books have been getting killed ALL year setting favorites too low, and this is just another case of it.

The average gambler doesn't consider that PSU's strength is their big, effective offensive line and power running game, and that NW's downside is their interior run defense, which allowed Iowa to run for 155 yards (5.5 yards per carry)

PSU is twice the running team that Iowa is... so good luck to Northwestern this Saturday. Penn State is going to average 6-7 yards per carry and control the clock and the ball.

This is the game that stands out to me for next week's college football card. The Wildcats are much better than their 2-4 record and Penn State isn't as good as their 6-1 record. The Nittany Lions have a really solid defense but the offense is just flat out anemic. The running game has come around but they still struggle to put up points on the board. Northwestern nearly knocked off a then-undefeated Illinois team in Champaign and followed that with a blown 10 point lead to lose to a really good Michigan team. I think what we are seeing with Northwestern is that they are right on the edge of being a decent team but they just can't put together a whole game. Since Dan Persa has come back the offense has looked really good and I think that this is the week the Wildcats put it all together. This is a really big game for them and they will be looking to avenge a loss in Happy Valley last year. Keep in mind, Northwestern was leading 21-0 last year before blowing that game. Like I said, PSU's defense is stout, but Northwestern has the weapons to give them some problems and move the ball down the field. No one is better at betting Penn State games on this site than me. Trust me on this one fellas. Northwestern +4 -110 (4x); ML +155 (1x)
