All, I can say, is that is certainly one of the worst defeats and completely inaccurate analyses I have ever played in my 18 years of sports handicapping. West Virginia was not prepared and they looked like they had won the game before the game had even started. As Sun Tzu stated so eloquently" Some battles are won before they are fought" and this case Syracuse had this game won. They attacked WVY and were by far a much greater physical presence on the field. It was amazing to see a ranked team go into the Carrier Dome and actually get mauled.
The lesson we take from this is that this game is OVER. It was a dreadful loss in many ways, but just ONE LOSS. Counts just as much as losing by the 'hook'. The same can be equally said of winning plays. They are done and over with and you cannot allow ANY emotion to affect your handicapping studies for the next day by allowing that winning euphoria or bitter taste to linger. One pitch at a time, one game study at a time, one play at a time. Our goal is to make money over the course of a week, month, and season.
