UFC 128 Picks (What do you think?)

    Official fight card

My Pick is BIG vs. Small (so for here it would reflect that I pick BIG to win)

    Preliminary card

    • Catchweight (195 lb) bout: Nick Catone vs. Constantinos Philippou

    Preliminary card (Facebook)

    Preliminary card (Spike TV)

    Main card

With those picks in I am on the fence sorta about Cro Cop and Faber I think these could go either way. I dont feel like Cro Cop is willing to "pas the torch" to Schaub and Faber vs. Wineland is gonna be a great fight but I think that Wineland wants to stand with Faber (for obvious reasons as well he said it) and I think Faber is actually to proud to say no

Why do I think Jones will Win?

    1. Wear and tear on Shogun (not trying to discredit him in any way)
    2. Jones sees his way he does not see Shogun as that almighty. He see Shogun as another fight that he must win in order to achieve a goal.
    3. Now with that said, I do not feel like Jones has faced someone with as much devastation potential as Shogun but, I think Jones is well aware of that and I think (that could be the issue) that Jones has a good plan to stay away from that devastation.

    Let's see what you think!
And yes I copied this over from wikipedia (except for the pick part) and edited it slightly (so much easier then typing it!)

3g5, those are some bold picks for the main card, wineland is a 4 to 1 underdog to faber. Can't wait to see this fight as I have seen neither fight before. I also like you have the miller brothers both winning. Dan is a 3 to 1 underdog to Nate the great. Hope you enjoy the card.

Only pick I like is Shaub. Your main card picks are weird. Are you betting real money?

Quite a few are different to mine.

Agree with what Raidernation and Varker said I think Shalorus will win based on his wrestling, if Jim Miller wins it's most likely going be a questionable (bullshit) hometown decision, if Kamal chooses to stay standing there's not much Jim Miller will be able to do outside of turning it into a brawl.

Dan Miller got out boxed by Demian Maia. Nate should blast through him based on what he did to Demian & Palhares and also a top striker in Kampmann.

I see Koch beating Assuncao. I just put $1 on Koch at $34 for fastest TKO/KO of the night, based off his last performance and that Koch has a 6 inch height advantage, god knows how much reach over bjj specialist Assuncao!

Agree with Catone, probably wrestle his way to a decision.

Agree with Benavidez, will probably choke or decision Loveland.

Tibau will out muscle his way to a decision, possibly tap Pellegrino

Agree with Pyle as an underdog, he'll probably out wrestle Almeida, should stalemate each other submission wise.

Agree with both your Spike prelim picks, Edson should blast through Njokauni and Cane will probably send Elliot back to the bushleague circuit.

I picked Mirko, although I can see Schaub retiring Mirko if he doesn't turn up to fight with his old killer instinct.

I can see Wineland clocking Faber or Faber winning a decision, maybe landing his guillotine.

For my maincard parlays I've done alternate bets with Schaub and Faber. Wanting Mirko to win and Faber to lose are kind of biased picks based on emotion, although Wineland has the wrestling and hands to upset Faber and maybe Mirko can unleash one more LHK before retiring.

And I think Shogun will beat Bones, handily. 1st Rd KO or kneebar if Jones takes him down.

Regarding the wear and tear on Shogun, it is a slight worry if its affected his cardio, but also he had his appendix removed 8 weeks before the 2nd Machida fight, he had a partial tear of a knee a ligament leading up to the fight and ruptured it during the fight and he still finished the unstoppable Machida in under 4 mins. He's had over 6 months to train for this fight since the surgery, he's self admittedly much healthier than he was against Machida.

All the bravado of Jones saying he's already the champ, signing pictures as champ before the fight is fear and all's he's done is put pressure on himself. Shogun has a proven track record, at 23 he was finishing Rampage, Arona and Overeem and had that epic war with Lil Nog. Bones while impressive lately with dominant performances couldn't put away Stephan Bonnar. There's a huge difference between, Bonnar Vladdy, Vera, Hamill and Bader than Shogun. Bones to be humbled, he is the future of the sport, but not now.

All of my betpoints are going on Shogun.

    Differences aside best of luck!

8-12, could say 10 considering I realised 2 were emotional biased picks and damn correctly predicted the outcome of nearly every fight. Aside the one that really mattered, if Shogun had won I'd be posting from a fancy new high end gaming rig

20 seconds off that fastest TKO/KO too. Damn you Cane!
