Nice plays Jibby, I pretty much skipped this event, as I was out at a Holiday party, and didn't have time to watch any film. Wish I would have made time to read up more on you and Hugo's picks.

I threw down three bets while at the party going with my heart and not watching any film . I was thinking of tailing you on Shogun but I didn't have the balls.

    My bets.

    Hunt TKO: 1u
    Hunt Round 2: .25u

    JDS TKO 1u
    JDS Round 2: .25u
    JDS R3: .25u

    Tony Martin via Submission: 2u

Nice job guys looks like a solid couple days of fights for some of you fellas....

On a side note to those who dont get the inside joke, ^ Hugo didn't actually max bet all of those fights. (Ditto with Jibbby and his $100 "sub" play)

(He likely couldn't have cuz they probably wouldn't have graded Willis quickly enough to max bet JDS afterward...)

(For anyone who has followed Hugo for any length of time you also know that he doesnt have the guts for it. He makes a ton of plays & hedges to mitigate his risk and NEVER goes all in on anything..)

He's only making fun of me cuz he's bitter / jealous that I hit a lot of max bet plays and never post them beforehand.

Although I have posted and later deleted bet slips proving my max bets plenty of times.

Jealousy has a strange effect on ppl.

Sad thing was Tuivasa had that, but he slept on JDS...same as Pedro on Shogun...

One thing I'm always learning, and has been reiterated over the last few events I've played is to go with my gut more and stop talking myself out of strong feelings I have, especially when there is evidence and others agree. I was going back and forth about going in on Shogun, and had a strong feeling but didn't play, and I had the really strong feeling on Martin by submission, but I only went small on it.

Then I see you guys hitting huge on the same bets, nice job Jibby and Hugo. I think with more solid events I'll build up my courage and trust myself more to hopefully hit bigger on some smart plays.

I agree, if you watch fights, follow UFC, going with a gut can be bad, but honestly, least from a parlay perspective, don't sleep on it...

    2) Giagos by Decision
    3) France by KO/ Hedge Garcia Sub
    4) Nakamura Sub

This was a fun event. Showgun fight was insane..

I actually didn't have a good over all pick event as I was very hit and miss again but this time around I hit 2 big props and it was gravy then.. I always said if you can nail a couple good prop wins you clean up..

To lazy to copy and paste every fight bet today, got football going on now.. Anyways, I Won close to a $1000 on Dimes with this event, some where around that anyways...

These were the 2 fights that sealed the big win for me.. Tony Martin sub and Shogun ITD.. Turned out to be a good weekend overall for betting MMA.

Weird how a lot of commentators got hung up on Joe Rogan's trip of discussing everything except what happens in fights.

Now that Dan Hardy is doing actual commentary, the contrast is bizarre.

Also guys quick heads up about Bovada I use Bovada becuase I like the interface and they have a mobile app.

Problem was they had limited prop bets and you used to not be able to pick the exact method of victory,e.g you couldn't choose TKO or submission you could only pick ITD. So I was always see you guys hitting these props so I opened a 5dimes juet for props but it was a huge hassle.

Also you couldn't make prop parlays..

I noticed last two events they have a lot more props and selections. Not sure if they allow prop parlays yet but I'll have to check next event.

    Congrats!

How many years have all of you been betting mixed martial arts?

2019 will be my 8th or 9th year(haven't kept track).

Would guess Jibbby has capped MMA since the 1960s at least.

How about the rest of you?

This is just my 2nd year.. before that just here and there casually when I was in Vegas or if I knew the fighters personally or trained with them.

I don't know what to say. If anyone is unhappy with their betting life.

My advice to you would be to use small bank rolls. Start with a bankroll of $20. Try to turn that into $200. Percentage gain is most important, not monetary gain. Its easier to learn the game and get a general idea of how good or bad you are @ gambling when there isn't much money at stake.

The goal isn't to make money. Its to make consistently good decisions based on a consistent gameplan and reduce the degree to which you worship money. Greed and the negative effect emotion has on decision making is what will cause you to lose bets.

I used to start out with bankrolls of $20 and turn that into $320 for a 16x gain. Then I would get too cocky and confident and lose it all. Its easy to be your own worst enemy in this game. Staying humble is important.

You can see it in this forum where people spam their opinions like mad after they do well. They feel confident and self assured. Then they're super quiet when things aren't going well -> their confidence plummets. They disappear and stop posting. The mental and emotional side of things is the hardest part to get down imo.
