I think Stephens messed up his weight cut.

He accidentally cut down to 144 lbs. Killed himself cutting 1 extra pound he didn't need to cut.

Your quote still didn't age well, Stephens was out striking Aldo.

Lmao he did not lose because of one pound. This result had literally nothing to do with the weight cut. If anything, Aldo looked worse on the scale than Stephens. You say some dumb shit sometimes man

Watched the fight again. Stephens literally landed one good flurry. After that the fight turned for Aldo. He tuned Stephens up until he got the finish with that nasty body shot.

    lol y u mad?

Is it because you think Yoel Romero's rough weight cut had no effect on him when he fought Robert Whittaker?

Or is it because you think Daniel Cormier's rough weight cut didn't help him run into that lead kick from Jon jones?

Look @ the weigh in results for this card.

You'll see Jeremy Stephens: 144 lbs.

If Stephens has a hard time making 145 -- you think cutting an extra pound down to 144 didn't affect him?

Not sure about that Hugo i had Aldo big but i thought he was in big trouble and Stevens was ready to put him and my money to sleep. I thought Stevens fought terrific an just got caught. I thought when he had Aldo hurt he was using great patience to finish him but Aldo dug deep.

I don't think Torres had a chance to win the fight. She thought she couldn't match JJ in standup because of the reach disadvantage so had to go with a clinch/takedown plan. That didn't work so she was screwed.

She was just fine standing with her. I thought she got the best of the stand up. Not overwhelmingly but she was in the game. To sit there an tire your arms up like that was asinine. Is that what she learn tracing with Rose. I cant remember Rose going for one takedown in both her fights with Joanna. Just bizarre

I agree, her standup was decent vs JJ. Maybe she was training with Rose, pushing Rose up against the cage. I'm not sure but right off the bat, she didn't look confident and also when she sat down after the 1st she looked flustered already. I live bet JJ at -675 at that point.

Best part of the event was the first fight where Powell landed those 2 LOUD kicks in a row. Absolutely brutal.

Lost 3.26u this event. Been a slow stretch. I haven't updated my YTD numbers probably since UFC226 or the TUF finale right before it, but I'll go back and tally them all up sometime soon. Def dropped off a bit.

Hard to hit lightening in a bottle with every event.. It seems we were only good for half the card.. Myself on the front end and you on the back end.. It happens...

Let's move on and get on to the next event..

When you bet the entire card and are a good MMA capper it's hard to lose your ass with any event.. You do Break even alot betting event to event but when winning cards does happen for big that's a good time...

Two things that stand out to me on the main card.

Mike Brown holding up his thumb and index finger a tiny bit apart for Dustin Poirier. I would guess Mike Brown was telling Poirier: "You were this close to finishing Alvarez with that guillotine choke." If that is what Mike Brown said, I would have to agree with him. That choke was close and Alvarez was in survival fight or flight mode which is why he dropped that 12 to 6 elbow. Those chokes made him feel like his life was in jeopardy.

Another thing that stands out is what Tecia Torres said to Joanna after their fight. It looked like Tecia said: "I love you." That's too cute.
