Would be pretty heartbreaking as that prob paid out extra high. But yeah, I honestly could have seen R2 going against him, although I'd have given it to him barely. But he almost finished him in the 1st, and the 3rd was all Mags, so the 29-28, I would be curious to know besides R2, what R that judge had for Silva. Cause he almost died R1, and got beat up R3 handily.

Anyway, weak ass main event. I bet Josh blew a huge stored up load though just now

Oliveira was good tonight but not good enough to win.
Weird finish but it was a great event except the final.

My night in a nut shell.. Bump pending card parlay from post #80 on this thread...

I went 6-6 in this parlay which looks like nothing special but 4 of those 6 wins were all + odd dog wins.. I also won the last 4 fights on the card which just happen to be involved with my largest plays.. Patrick Cote I loaded up on too.... Hit a bunch of very good props along the way and lost a good amount of my O/U bets.. In the end I had a very good night, very profitable...

If Chris Beal didn't get robbed in that decision loss and Sam Stout didn't get Knocked the Fock out I would have had a really epic night... Not complaining though as I wasn't sure if I was going to win this event half way thru the card..

    Next.....

edit - His injury being an esophagus tear might be unconfirmed. It could be some other type of neck injury.

If he had an esophagus tear, it could mean he is bulimic and has an eating disorder. AFAIK, that type of injury normally comes from being bulimic -- overeating/puking. Puking more than normal causes stomach acid to burn the throat/esophagus which weakens it and makes it more susceptible to tearing. It can be a life threatening condition and is more the type of thing someone would expect to find in people battling anorexia than a professional MMA fighter.

Anyways, as far as I know it might be unconfirmed. It might just be a rumor someone started to suggest MMA fighters who cut a lot of weight are anorexic and have eating disorders for political reasons. I'm not going to believe it unless Oliveira or someone in his camp announces it.

It wasn't an esophagus tear. Confirmed.

UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira has been released from hospital following his scary injury in the main event of UFC Saskatoon.

During the first round of the UFC Saskatoon main event, Charles Oliveira pushed himself up the Octagon cage, touched his shoulder/neck region, and quickly informed the referee and cage-side medic: "I can't feel my body." It was a disastrous conclusion to an exciting main event, yet one that thankfully did not lead to any major injuries, as it appears the featherweight has been released from hospital following a series of tests.

According to MMAFighitng.com, Oliveira was put through tests on his neck, chest and throat, all of which came back negative and free of "major injuries." Given that some suspected that Oliviera may have suffered an esophageal tear, the results were a relief.

The UFC released a statement on Oliveira, which can be read below.

"UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira has been released from medical care in Saskatoon today and will be traveling home tomorrow. Preliminary test results for major chest, neck or throat injuries were negative and Oliveira will have a follow up appointment with his local physician upon returning home. Oliveira is in good spirits and appreciates the support he's received from his fans during this time."
