he does...gun to the head he's my pick...

of course, the longer the fight goes, the better for Stipe...edge cardio-wise (but this is a non-issue for the first round and a half, i reckon)

but for the first 1.5 rounds, Hunt is the superior striker technique-wise (he's not a "hay-maker thrower" like Nelson whom people mistakenly lump him in with...hence the bargain price on Hunt...that and the fact that the Samoan's gas-tank against Werdum was very much sub-par due to his being a late, and very-overweight replacement)

Hunt coming in from a full camp is a great value price-wise...with a big bonus- payout on what should be a very entertaining violent coin-flip

probability of Vick-Matthews being a shitty fight is very low...my gun-to-head pick for FOTN...

just hope the judges got the memo about the "one affirmative-action decision per card" quota...and give the visitor a fair shake

apart from the homie-gift to Noke (aka. the hosing of Webb), Rawlings the only minus-number to win out of the first 9 fights on the card...

in tennis terms, we've had only two holds of service...and 7 breaks

we were lucky there a bit, i reckon, as from the early exchanges u could see Vick didn't have the power to end the fight with standing strikes, but the Aussie did...so, only way Vick could win was by a sub--cuz anything remotely close would go to Matthews...

god bless those ridiculously-long arms of Vick to wrap something up outa nothing and keep it away from the "10-9 for our guy" auto-bots

Nah, I smashed him live after Matthews couldn't keep him down. Matthews needs to be the hammer, he would have been jabbed and angled to death rest of the fight.

hit 3 of my first four dogs (Hooker, Vick, O'Connell)...so my matrix of parlays will at least push...will get sweeter depending on the last two...Whittaker & Hunt

good way to put it...explains why once-considered phenoms like E.Silva and Mein can look so invincible...until someone actually fights back...

but Matthews (especially considering his age) is a real deal--not doomed to be just crowd-pleasing journeymen like those two...

like the expression "needs to be the hammer"...will add to my repertoire

dog-rich nights usually good for me...frustrating as fukk when not (which happens FAR more often)

most of the time on these event threads the shoe's on the other foot pick-wise, so i'll enjoy it...

good luck to both of us on the under

everyone categorizes hunt as a big-country clone...but hunt MUCH more skillful...

both heavy punchers but hunt fires laser beams >> nelson fires haymakers

This fight was fixed. No doubt the referee should have stop the fight earlier. Hunt his lucky if he doesn't have brain damage, I really hope he's alright for him.

    I can't believe what I saw.

that was NOT the most damage I've ever seen that a ref has ever let a beaten fighter endure for no good reason...it comes in second to

the beating that Dean (I think) let Matt Brown put on ErickSilva...at the end of the round just before the round when he finally called it...Brown had Silva in full mount hammering him mercilessly...wailing on him with sledgehammer elbows and fists...went on for 90 seconds or so...with the ref obviously deciding to let him take it till the round ended...

more brutal cuz it was MattBrown a vicious hitter...not Miocic who's a Bisping-like volume puncher...
go back and watch Brown/E.Silva and see how terribly sorry you feel for Silva who had to eat an ungodly number of unnecessary baseball-bat blows to the head...at the end of that round AND for the next few minutes until the fight was FINALLY called with Silva just this side of being alive

letting Miocic dominate Hunt unnecessarily for so long was bad...but letting Matt Brown almost kill Silva with multiple concussive blows while he was flattened out in full mount was worse...but people somehow don't remember this one where the ref (the well-respected Herb Dean, i think) could have conceivably been charged with attempted manslaughter...

If Hunt (or Silva months ago) tragically did die from complications of their beating...and if a crusading prosecutor insisted on charging someone with manslaughter...it should not be the fighter who was just doing his job by inflicting the damage...it should be the referee who let that damage continue FAR longer than it needed to be

Well, Miocic KO'ed Maldonaldo with one shot. They should either have stopped in the third or let it go all the way. Some consistency please, it's not like the shots he took in the 5th was close to the third.
