The greatest MMA fighter that never stepped in the cage.

    None other than Alexander Karelin.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Karelin

He would of rag dolled Cain Velaquez.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_dDKWmyz4k

He's basically the 280 lb version of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

He would of been virtually unbeatable with a bit of MMA training.

What's your point? He never got into MMA.

Have you seen his matches? The guy lost 1 match in his career (rumor was he threw the match for $$$$$$$$). He tossed men 280 lbs on their heads from the ground. He's the greatest greco-roman wrestler of all times.

The only way anyone could of stopped him would of been to KO him before he got his hands on them.

He was one a freak athlete with freak strength with freak technique. One of the greatest athletes of all times.

Watch his matches if you doubt that.

"The greatest MMA fighter that never stepped in the cage."

"Aleksandr Karelin Mixed martial arts record"

Generally this is where you lol, we lol, and then we continue the thread, but apparently that bruises your ego, since you felt the need to immediately dismiss me before hammering home the same points you made in your OP.

I pointed it out because it's funny, don't be so defensive.

It's all good. I was a fan of Karelin back when the UFC started. I always hoped he would of gone into it. He would of certainly tore though the competition back in the day. And I believe he prime Karelin would KO Cain with slams today. Would be a great fight -- but the 40 lbs of mass would be too much for Cain to handle. No sense fantasizing about shit that will never be. Just wanted to bring this legend to the forum's attention. Most have never heard about him.

He was given the highest honor in the Olympics (torch lighter) and is known as the greatest wrestler in Russian history... he's not exactly unknown.

I meant relatively unknown to the MMA community. A lot of people know about him.

It was actually an wrestling exhibition match -- not sure why they labeled it a "MMA match".
